make the aneros longer with hot glue?

hi everybody,

i read the good and interesting story of dixiewrecked on 22/2, and it seems that a longer aneros in some cases might help. Does anyone know of experiments with enlarging it? Hot glue on the abutment does great things to the shape of it and is easy tot use, has anyone experience with glue on the tip of the aneros itself? Or other stuff?
