How much Lube is enough? How can one tell if it is not enough?
It was a bit difficultt to remove it from my anus after using it for awhile. Is this due to a lack of lube? Once I bore down as if in a bowel movementit came out.
Is there an alternative to the lube shooters to get enough inside where it is most needed?
Hi Dane,
Welcome to the Forum,
Your question – “How much Lube is enough?” is one only you can answer, but there seems to be some agreement that 5ml (5cc) of liquid lube injected into the rectum is satisfactory.
“How can one tell if it is not enough?” If you develop soreness or a burning sensation due to friction burns you obviously need more, if you don’t feel your Aneros movingly easily in your rectum or anus, you need more. If movement is easy and discomfort free, you’re OK.
I occasionally also have my Aneros reluctant to exit gracefully. I think this is just due to anal sphincter muscle tension, as you said, when you bear down (opening the anal sphincter) it slides right out. I think this is fairly normal and not anything to be concerned about.
“Is there an alternative to the lube shooters to get enough inside where it is most needed?” Yes, if you read the sections of the WIKI I noted in my PM to you will find some of your answers.
Hi Dane,
Welcome to the forum!!
"How much lube is enough?" This is really up to each individual. Some folks actually inject or add some extra lube directly into their bum, but I think most, will just place some lube around their anus, and a small amount inside with their finger, then, lubing the Aneros, and inserting it.
The type of lube is a very big part of how well the session is to move forward.
What type of lube do you use? and what type of Aneros do you have?
Those are some questions we would need to know. It may help.
I would not suggest letting yourself get to dry before you re-lube in a session, and you should never force out the Aneros when the anus is dry, or you could cause a tear. If you feel dry, and know it may be hard to get the Aneros out, take your time, and gently work the toy out, just don't force it!
There is an incredible amount of information on the forum and wiki so I would suggest taking a look there for some great information. Lube is always a big question for the new user to the forum.
I agree with both of these guys. I used to douche and use a syringe to inject 1 or 2 syringe fulls of lube and then lube the Aneros, but I've found with good quality lube and 30 minutes or so after a full bowel movement all that is needed is to lube the Aneros, and a bit on the rectal opening. The douche and syringes are good though...don't get me wrong. It's usually not bad to over lube a bit - just in case, but under lube as they mentioned is bad and could cause injury if it dries out. It it isn't coming out easily you need more lube...and likely you need a better lube. Currently I recommend Rumel's 'Natural Jelly'. Before that I typically used 'Liquid Silk' which is a water based glycerine free lube that is fairly thick. IMO you need something with higher viscosity / thicker otherwise it just doesn't work too well unless it is extremely slick and doesn't absorb into the skin. But yes...the type of lube is equally if not more important than how much lube and whether you douche / prelube with syringe or not.
Well yesterday I used Ky Liquid with an applicator tip added form an Enema bottle and injected lube. This eemed much better and did not get sore and dry out. I I begin to feel dryness I slipped it out and bak in to redistribute it and continued This did interupt the flow of pleasure and had to rebuild a bit but after about an hour the Helix seemd to move deeper into me when I began intrcourse like thrusts andd had sensations somewhere bewteen feeling like peeing and pre orgasmic pleasureable sensations. Thes only began when I felt it moving inot me deeper. I thought the Prostate was clsoer to the anal entry and not so deep. Is it usual to feel this deeper tickling feel?
And I read somewhere not to use
Thanks for teh Lube help fro m all of you. I
Dane
Sorry for my typos and I left out that I had read that one should not use Lube with Glycerin in it. KY liquid has glycerin. What are the problems one can encounter using lube with Glycerin?
