I ran into this web page, which seems well informed:
http://www.maxprivate.net/what-is-good-anal-lube/
I did so because I have not yet found a lube I am truly happy with. I want one with these qualities:
- very slippery
- long lasting
- oil based
- no ingredients I don't trust in my body
The oil based requirement is because I believe that water based lubes are absorbed while oil-based are not. I don't want any of the weird water-borne polymers to find their way into who-knows-where in my body after being absorbed. Other people might not share this concern.
The web page suggested something which seems like it might be perfect for me:
Alpha Keri Bath and Body Oil
http://www.amazon.com/Alpha-Keri-Bath-Body-500ML/dp/B00AQD5MI6
Note: there are different Alpha Keri products. I am talking only about this exact one.
Apparently it is super slippery and long lasting (plus oil based).
It also apparently only contains two ingredients, both of which I am fine with:
- lanolin
- paraffin wax
The obstacle is that it has been discontinued in the U.S. It is made and sold in Australia, though, luckily is still available on Amazon.
Does anybody have experience with this (and can you confirm the full ingredients list?)

thanks,
but, no, i think that is a different product, and includes nasty things like sunblock:
Alpha Keri Shower and Bath Moisture Rich Oil
http://www.amazon.com/Keri-Shower-Moisture-16-Ounce-Bottles/dp/B001ET776Q
I spent hours surfing the web to find the ingredients of the product I am interested in (the "Bath and Body Oil," as described in the original post), to no avail.
I wrote to the drug store in Australia, and they wrote back:
- lanolin
- paraffin wax
I also wrote to the manufacturer, bur have not heard back yet.
The best way to know with certainty is if somebody in Australia can go to a drug store and look at that exact product.
I want to know before I go to the expense of ordering it, with shipping around the world.

@darwin, copied from a local distributors site, the company is local to me. The product it very cheap so I may get 500ml later this week and read the fine print! At least it would be a good lotion for skin.

Alpha Keri Bath & Body Oil 500ml
RRP $13.95

Alpha Keri Oil is a completely water dispersible, bath and shower oil which lubricates the skin. The oil spreads evenly over the skin to create a moisture retaining barrier to protect against dryness and irritations. The invisible film hydrates the skin and helps retain natural oils by preventing evaporation from its surface. The skin is left feeling soft and lubricated without feeling greasy. The Oil is anti- pruritic and because it cleanses there's no need to use harsh soaps which can aggravate dry skin conditions.

It only lists the two ingredients you mentioned. Sounds interesting.
I got a mysterious response from Alpha Keri, saying they "don't give out their full list of ingredients" but offering to tell me if any particular ingredient I am concerned about is present.
But this is a product for use on human skin, so I don't understand that. In Australia, is it required to list all ingredients on a product like this? My understanding is that in the U.S. it is.
I hope you do get a chance to purchase, or inspect, and let me know what is on the label.
Thanks,
Darwin
A&D ointment contains (only, as far as i know) lanolin and petroleum jelly (=paraffin wax). I have used it as an alternative to shea butter and olive oil. It does have a smell, but I personally don't find it objectionable. The only alpha Keri I know was an emulsified oil, that dispersed in water, and it wasn't particularly "slippery" though it made your skin feel soft and smooth.
Amazon lists the ingredients as :
Mineral Oil, Peg-4 Dilaurate, Lanolin Oil, Fragrance, Benzophenone-3, Green 6.
Thanks, but, no, that is a Alpha Keri different product.
I heard back from Alpha Keri. They told me that since the Body and Bath Oil is registered as "over the counter medicine," they don't have to list/provide full ingredients list.
So i have forgotten about this product.

I can understand why you'd dismiss this product.
It's still odd though that there is the requirement of listing all the ingredients for food or consumables but NOT for medicines? But that's getting off topic.
