Lube may be overrated.

I used to apply silicone lube very liberally, then a bit less, and finally yesterday I only applied it at 3 points. Before the 15 min relaxation phase, after it, and when switching from helix to progasm.

Yesterday I had one of best or at least strangest sessions so far. I never got far in the journey because of privacy and time issues. But... yesterday I had a blast for 3.5 hours. Literally. Helix eventually stopped exciting me, so I switched to progasm. It was like an internal blowjob. It didn't take much to imagine my cock is licked from inside. Like sex with an aardvark.

My point is that apparently Aneros doesn't need all that much lube, at least the plastic/glass varieties. To have a good time you need to lube it initially to limit friction, but too little friction reduces prostate contact too. I seem to notice a session starts getting better when the lube is starting to dry up. Silicone lube never dries completely, just enough to prevent soreness and blood on aneros.

The bottom line: only apply enough lube to prevent soreness and fractured skin. Aneros might be designed with that level of friction in mind.

It may be fine you have found you are able to comfortably use your Aneros devices with limited lubrication but I have to disagree with you about using "... just enough to prevent soreness and blood on aneros.". While you may find your personal lubrication regime OK, I think this advice is erroneous and inappropriate, especially for anal play novices. From the Aneros Learning Center information pages ->"Whichever lubricant you use, be sure to use plenty of it. Cover the entire shaft of your Aneros massager. Not using enough lube can end up cutting your session short because of discomfort.", the Learning Center also directs users to the Lubrication paragraphs in the "Getting Started" section of the Aneros WIKI for a deeper understanding about lubrication. There is a reason why almost all guide instructions regarding anal play stress using copious amounts of lubrication, an often stated principle of lubrication is "Too much lube is just enough!"
I would be saddened to hear about men abandoning their pursuit of prostate massage for health and pleasure because they experienced unnecessary discomfort or limited device mobility due to inadequate lubrication. IMHO, lubrication is definitely NOT overrated, if anything it is underrated.
Good Vibes to You !

I put a coat of lube on they toy a total of 3 times, and contact my muscles each time to make sure it's evenly distributed inside. I used to put way more. Now I don't re-lube unless I feel the toy is getting uncomfortably warm (which means high friction).

What makes Aneros so pleasurable for me is that I don't have to worry about not enough lube. I always use a copious amount of Boy Butter Original (which is coconut-oil based) and have never experienced an issue, even throughout a long session. IMHO, "more is just right!" Thanks @rumel for the comprehensive advice!

Wow........these type detailed descriptive accounts of aneros use make me want to keep the course until I get where you guys are. I have learned to have many many MMOs and sometimes some full body Os with nipple and shaft play while deeply relaxing and directing mental thoughts to fire up sexual arousal and dry orgasms.

But this description along with the accounts of other successful aneros uses who detail their episodes, make me want to retire and fulfill my aneros journey with what you all are experiencing.

Thanks @airbag . Please print more of your experiences and anologies.

@Turnrow, the funny part is I think you're farther than me in the journey. I have about 1.5 months of experience now (I didn't have time / motivation for Aneros for at least half a year so it's safe to assume my prior rewiring is gone). So when I recently restarted doing it, I think I had no rewiring but I knew all the positions that work for me and what feeling to look for. The feeling is fairly subtle and doesn't feel like much at first.

I think the key to Aneros use is rhythm. With normal penis stimulation usually harder and more intense is better. With Aneros, you need curiosity (for experimentation with positions) and patience. You also need to listen to your body. Instead of trying to brute force your way in your favorite position, you need to try a few and feel what works best this particular day. It feels like sometimes one part of my prostate is tired and I need to approach it from different way. For example today I had a lot of fun with Helix but little with Progasm afterwards. 2 days ago it was the opposite, Helix eventually stopped being pleasurable and Progasm kept me gasping for the extra hour or so. I follow the most pleasant spot of the day and repeatedly contract there.

Pro tip: get flexible. Since I started doing various exercises my flexibility approaches that of a pornstar, and is still improving. I can hold my legs more spread out with no pain. Also, I'm sure my working out and general physical activity (pushups, squats, cycling, even garden work) keep me healhier and increase pleasure from aneros.

I'm going to limit my Aneros time because with occasional 3 hour sessions (not counting enema time!!!) I will never accomplish anything. Regular prostate workouts are going to help me more than 3 hours mega-sessions.

I'm not obsessed with orgasms. I used to have full body shakes (this is where my nickname comes from...I wish I could change it) but nowadays I try to subdue them. They look spectacular on videos and are impressive at first, but they're not that pleasurable. Calmer pleasure still makes me gasp (I'm pretty shameless and loud in bed) and numbs my brain. This is why I don't do shaft play or touch my genitals during sessions. I masturbate (but not to ejaculation) while watching porn outside of aneros use. I don't hold strong kegel contractions, contract very hard or do anything else that's supposed to squeeze an orgasm out of me. I'm not impressed by cum dripping like from a broken faucet when you milk your prostate with rough dildoing. That's handsfree, but not that pleasant. I mean I can bring myself to ejactulation 100% by teasing foreskin (frenulum to be exact) or by external prostate massage while watching porn (and no dick touching). But after the first try I don't do that anymore, just to satisfy my curiosity.

Thanks @airbag for the details of your journey. I can affirm so much of what you say in my own experiences. Some days the prostate does feel tire for me. And like you, that soft touch on my frenulum, coronal ridge, and soft glans stimulation with focus----these send me over the top with pleasure. Not to mention the joys of arousal and wonderful feelings in my shaft, balls, foreskin----really any part of my body with mental focus and nipple action.

Keep posting. I am interested in your journey and the details of your route to divine pleasure.

I remember seeing your post that for you, less lube=more friction=more pleasure. I found this to be true for me as well when using my Syn models. I did not pre-lube, just coated my massager with lube and I had some great sessions. Like you said, when using less lube there seems to be more friction and contact with the prostate. I want to clarify for new users I am not saying don't use lube, as you need some lubrication, Less could be more for more experienced users.

I recently have found using silicone lube on my massagers (non-Syn models), and a dab of water based lube upon insertion is working out GREAT for me. Sometimes I will apply a little more silicone lube to the massager during a session at some point, and always if I switch up to a different model. I was trying to get away from using Vaseline and injecting water based pre-lube during every session and I think using silicone lube is the answer for me. It also eliminates a step in the process because I do not have to clean a lube shooter (before and after use).
