Just tried to see how long I can hold a contraction after doing the aneros for a few months now. At about 80% i was able to hold for 2 1/2 hours before i got bored. When i first started 2 min was about max. Also if you are able to hold for a long time does it " keep things from happening " as easy?

@turtle,IMHO, I'm not sure it would achieve anything much, apart from the satisfaction of having done it!

It's my understanding that most of the benefit from doing Kegel exercises comes from the flexing of the muscles rather than simply holding them taught.

You would probably gain more benefit and more control over what is happening down there if you alternate a number of clenches (lasting perhaps 15 to 20 seconds), with a number of short grabs, each series lasting for perhaps half a minute.

Have fun whatever you do.

@turtle, I agree with @pommie, your not weight training or anything down there lol, the goal is to fatigue the muscles so the involuntary twitching begins. Holding a contraction for long periods will only help if its causing involuntary contractions ,if that's not happening try different time periods while holding the contraction at say 30-50%.

Hi @turtle,

Can you tell us what Aneros model(s) you use in your sessions?

Also, working with the Aneros takes patience and practice. As you have regular sessions, your prostate will begin to awaken and your Aneros journey will begin in earnest. Also I discovered from my sessions that there is a symbiotic relationship between the Kegel Exercises and the Aneros. Both improve each other!

You may want to peruse the Wikipedia articles on the Cremaster muscle and pubococcygeus muscle for more information.

@pommie and @ineverknew, I like your insights and suggestions on the Kegel Exercises.

Helix Syn and Vice for about 3 monthsI had received a prostate massage from my girlfriend and I think I had a small awaking of my Kundalini energy, it was only the one time but I was up for 5 days, it was a huge massive surge of energy. Sense using the Aneros I have had a feeling around 4 times that I can only describe as a pinching up or a raising of my conscious. not a out of body but a lifting. I felt very small but my perception seemed huge. Sounds strange but that is the best I can describe it.
Is the Aneros journey more reliant on meditation or focus on rhythmic contractions?
I don't understand how fatiguing the prostate can work by hold and release if i can hold for hours.

Here is a trick that I have used to livin up the drive to and from work.
I will put the cruse control on at about 69 mph. Than for every mile marker I past I will hold a contraction for one mile than relax for the next mile. I have a 32 mile comuted from home to office. I do this 2 or 3 times a week and gives me a cheap thrill for a boring comute. Just taking advantage of the time to train the body.
