Hi all. This is my first post and i thought i'd share my experience with the aneros helix.
I started using it towards the end of last year, with not much success. I'd estimate about 15-20 times. Regular orgasms were sometimes improved and other times below average. I'd heard it takes practice so persevered. I think it's probably important to note that in the session i'm about to describe, i was on two medications - Viagra (first time, 50mg) and Mirtazapine (15mg, anti-depressant). So, i was about 40 minutes into using the aneros helix and felt like something different was happening. My vision weakened and my right arm began convulsing involuntarily for a few seconds. My initial reaction was that i was reaching a super-o, despite the fact that it did not feel good. It passed, and a few minutes later returned. Again, it did not feel pleasurable. I gave up, and masturbated as usual. Afterwards, upon looking in the mirror, i noticed my eyes were incredibly bloodshot. I've no doubt thats down to the Viagra. During the following day, i was experiencing muscle twitches mainly in my fingers, but elsewhere too. It was very worrying! Sleeping was difficult....my body was twitching every now and again, and it wasn't like a normal sleep twitch, it's hard to explain. About a week later the twitching faded from my hands/fingers and seemed to shift to my calf muscles. If i look closely, i can see the 'fasciculations' or twtches randomly, all over both calf muscles. My eyes felt bruised for about a month. Some blood vessels in my eyes are permanently visible. It's nearly a year after this happened, and the twitching in my calf muscles has remained the same. I haven't used Viagra since, nor the aneros!
I'd love to hear peoples opinion on this.
Thanks 🙂
Sorry to hear that, I remember another similar post about eye injury. 🙁

Several thoughts:
Understood that finding the "right" anti-depressant is both difficult and time consuming but a whole year with frequent twitches seems quite long. You might ask your doc about a change in meds to eliminate or at least temper/minimize the twitches. Perhaps adding an anticonvulsant might help.
Ask too if Levitra might be a better choice of PDE5 inhibitor since it's more targeted at PDE5 with fewer effects on other organs and vascular tissues. (Levitra might take some getting used to since it's more subtle and more difficult to sense when, "you're ready.")
Remember too that with PDE5 inhibitors, less is frequently better as any annoying side-effects won't overpower the positive effects of the med. Some guys do best at 15mg of Viagra or 5mg of Levitra. Buy a pill splitter, enjoy and save a buck !
Any chance that your eye issues could be related to a dry eye condition? Using eye-drops to excess ??
I jumped onto zaneblue's bandwagon for fish oil supplement. Aside from the 'advertised' benefits it seems to have improved eye lubrication and eliminated my tendency to reach for the eye drops when the humidity plummets. 😀 😉
