Can anybody help? Very excited to get my first Aneros, an MGX, but after a couple of weeks of following the instructions to the letter it doesn't seem to be working.

I'm a 60 year old male hetrosexual in a stable relationship; we have sex about 3 times a week and anal play is part of our usual pattern so no worries there; I already do Kegel exercises anyway so I'm used to the muscle control bit. Am I expecting too much?

The only thing I can think of is that I have a slightly enlarged prostate but that was the main reason for getting the Aneros anyway - I thought it would help and 'kill two birds with one stone'.

Yes. Expect nothing; relax. Take a nap while listening to HypnAnerosession, and when you feel something, concentrate on it.

Hi stevie69,

Welcome to the Aneros Forums, your best source of information for learning about the multiple benefits and joys of using the Aneros prostate massagers. There is a wealth of information to be obtained on this website.

You said "...after a couple of weeks of following the instructions to the letter it doesn't seem to be working." I don't know how many times I've heard a similar refrain posted on this Forum but I know it is a very frequent one. I presume when you say it is not working that you mean you are not having Super-O's. As far as it working at reducing your enlarged prostate, that process may take several months of use before any detectable reduction occurs. This is a gradual process and patience is required for both actions to occur.

First, you need to understand the "instructions" are really only general introductory guidelines for use, to get you acquainted with your new massager. As such they should not be expected to be effective for every man or every situation. Experimentation with variations is important to find the right combination of techniques which will prove effective for you.

Second, whilst your previous anal experience and Kegel exercises are beneficial to the learning process, you still may not have yet 'awakened' your prostate. Some men seem predisposed to an early (even immediate) awakening, while other men take a considerable length of time to arouse their slumbering organ. It is the luck of the genetic draw where you fall in this continuum of potentiality.

Thirdly, you asked "Am I expecting too much?", IMHO, YES, two weeks of use, even if done everyday (which I do not recommend) is not very much experience with these marvelous little devices. Patience in tuning into the subtle sensations generated by your prostate is essential, you can't force these feelings to emerge.

Fourth, high arousal levels are necessary to get into the Super-O zone. I am presuming here you are experiencing normal ejaculations due to intercourse with your wife. The frequency with which you are having sex with your wife may be sufficiently satisfying to keep your arousal level lower than needed to trigger a Super-O. I don't know if your wife is interested in helping you to attain a Super-O, if she is, great, she can provide some unique stimulation to aid your learning. I encourage you to read the Blogs of 'artform' and 'STARR831' regarding the participation of their spouses in this journey. If she isn't interested in participating then you may be looking at a longer learning curve as you learn these skills through solo practice.

P.S. I sent you an introductory PM with some additional hints and tips to get you started.

HI,
Could be that the toy does not do it for you. I had to try several before I found one that did the trick for me. But that is frustrating when you start dropping more and more money on more and more anal toys. I found a diverse bunch I like and no more, not one, I promise, not one more. (see how long that lasts)

I like the Njoy Wands and the Aneros Eupho the best. Word of warning, (please no flame war) there seems to be some confusion between receptive and submission in this group. I think that Njoy Wands and the Eupho take you to the same place, but the Wand is different for me because I manipulate it by hand and do not engage my spincter muscles to drive the toy; they get to do their own thing. I seem to let go a little more with the wands. In that way it may seem more passive. If passive and or receptive equate to submission and that bothers you then stay with the Aneros.

Could be that you have not 'rewired.' I know, fucking frustrating concept, but it is pretty accurate. It took me a long time to get it, maybe just keep trying. I know that it can take a while, it took me a long long time to get past just feeling sort of warm and a little tickle here and there. (I think well over a year. AARRRRGGGGHHHHH!!!!!!)

Last suggestion, only since you say you have followed the instructions to the letter, do something different, lots of suggestions in the forum. I was ready to give up, was playing with the Progasm, and thought I have spent enough time with this plastic up my ass. It was the second one I bought because the first was 'intriguing,' and the stories of men unable to move from almost heroic month long orgasms which first seemed completely plausible (after all weren't they here on the internet?) and this, this is fucking it? A little intriguing tingle here and there? That is fucking it? Fuck this thing! And sitting up and OHHHHHH got such a shock part way up that I fell back and thought what the fuck was that?

All I can say is good luck and stick with it. (If you want.) Personally it was really really really really really worth it for me.

Hello, stevie, Rumel is correct, as usual. In addition to the two references he gave, perhaps going here will offer some additional information. I have to agree with him, again, when I say that this often takes time...lots of it, sometimes, months, of practice and determination that there is TRUTH in what we tell you. And as I've said many, many times in reply to posts just like yours....anything worth having is worth working for. Believe us when we tell you, it's worth it.

But, in the meantime, gabrial is also correct, IMHO, because I don't think the MGX is the best toy to start with. Again, and IMHO, a Helix will likely provide you with a much better experience. BTW, if you bought your MGX from this website, they'll take it back and give you a refund that you can apply toward the price of the Helix. Good deal, eh?

So, read that Cherry Picks link. There are some excellent tips and information there that can really make a difference. Your mindset is not good right now, in my opinion, so you need to spend a little more time in getting your head in the right place to begin your rewiring journey. There is a paradigm change needed, and I think you may want to spend a little more time in researching the in-and-outs (pun intended) of the Aneros.

Good luck, by the way. The forum is here to answer your questions and concerns and is "staffed" by the most knowledgeable and sympathetic guys that it will ever be your pleasure to know. We are here to help and encourage.

The rest is up to you!

Good luck, brother, and success on your journey.

Cockadoodle
