Issues with this site

I am experiencing some serious issues with this site.

1. This is the first time I have managed to log in and stay logged in long enough to post something. What has been happening is, I log in and navigate to the General Discussion with all being well but when I navigate to a particular page, I see that I am no longer logged in or able to post anything. If I then hit the log in link it shows that I am already logged in. I have tried from my phone (android) and experience the same issue. I have tried different browsers (Firefox, Safari and Chrome) running on a MacBook Pro. No idea what I did differently now, but I stayed logged in long enough to write this.

2. When I first navigate to the General Discussion page the topics and notifications about how many replies on those topics are all exactly as they were the previous time I visited the site, no new replies etc. If I clear my recent history and reload the page the new replies are then shown.

3. Under the Blogs, some entries have no body. The blog title is there, but nothing to read. I have noticed other people saying they experience the same issue.

Just thought I would list these issues to see if anyone else is battling. Perhaps the sites Admin can poke around and see whats up.

Hi @rickr, it’s not ideal, but at that point I am in the post in which I wish to reply, I hit the browser refresh button.  The site then recognizes my logged-in state.  Yes, I have been noticing inconsistencies like these since last month.  I had written a Support ticket to notify the company.

Cool beans, I will try that. I thought it was only me. So often of late I have wanted to shoot off a quick reply and have not been able to - very irritating.

That's my experience as well, nothing updates normally. I just hit refresh all the time to see new topics, new posts, or to get "logged in" status. Basically refresh each time I move form page to page.

Another hack is to log on while on the post you want to post on,then post. Or enter general discussion, log on,then add topic. Pain in the ass really, and not the good pain than accompanies a session, but that’s none of my business 😉

@rickr - we have been having some caching issues on the site and will investigate further.  A trick is to refresh your browser if you believe you should still be logged in.  Refreshing will probably show that you are.  As far as the blog posts, we will take look.  Thanks for bringing these issues to our attention.

That didn't work for me as it would redirect me to the sign in screen, then afer backing up to page I would be logged out, but as soon as I hit reload it will change my status to logged in

@tbob I understand what you mean. But it still works for me. I go on a post, then log in,comment, then log out,as if I back page or even select general discussion, then I’ll bb logged out. Then I have to repeat the steps above. Most times I comment, log out, then go to the next post and log in lol Not good in 2022!

The first one is an issue for me too.

To be safe...  Every time I make a post I make sure to do it in a separate window.  When I am done I refresh the other window to make sure I am still logged in.  If I click the reply button and am no longer logged in, I lose everything I wrote.

I do not know enough to say observations are a symptom of caching issues.  But, sometimes the top-level (Forum) view will not show the latest post with accuracy.  Further, sometimes clicking on the topic will not take me to what I know in the thread has a more-recent entry than is displayed.  Refreshing the browser window can help.  But my concern is that posts can become orphaned, such as this thread where "Replies not found"

Yes, I feel the same. There are some inconsistencies.
