Is using a prostate massager the same as prostate milking?

I watched a vid on youtube about prostate milking and it really scared the hell out of me.
It talked about all the risks like for example getting blood poisoning or if you have prostate cancer
spreading the cancer through the body. It said before starting milking you need your doc's permission.

I had a prostate checkup a few months ago everything was fine, can I now safely use a prostate massager?

Is using a massager even the same as milking? Or is milking something different?

I must say I'm really worried now after watching this video.

Where is the difference? Does a massager apply less pressure? But what if you flex your PC muscles so that the massager is pressed against the prostate would this then be the same as prostate milking?

And is it true that milking is dangerous?

On the other hand is using a prostate massager also dangerous somehow? Can you hurt your prostate with it or get blood poisoning or something else?

Depends on the prostate massager. Some might but Aneros won't. It is designed to be hands free self-massaging.
...... Or something else - pleasure, BPH wee relief, 'rhoid reduction, pelvic floor health.

But does a prostate massager apply as much pressure as a prostate milking?

Aneros massagers are designed to limit the pressure on the prostate. Some other massagers seem to apply more pressure. Manually handled massager (e.g drum stick) may do some damage. Like wise some massagers (people) my apply too much pressure and some too little. Too many variables to give a definitive answer.

Are aneros massagers really so much different from other massagers? I mean to me they all pretty much look the same. And aneros also has a broad variety of massagers some are slim others are really thick. How exactly do the guys from aneros make sure that you cannot hurt yourself when there is too much pressure? How is this supposed to work?
For example to person A a huge massager like the progasm may feel good and to person B it could be too big and apply too much pressure. Does this mean that person B would be in danger of hurting her prostate?

@dunz, this is going around in circles. Buy a mid size one and see if you want to go bigger or smaller. 'The proof of the pudding is in the eating.' You will end up with a variety, so start somewhere in the middle!

"Does this mean that person B would be in danger of hurting her prostate?" No, she is quite safe.

I have 2 massagers right now one is medium (Shots Toys prostate massager) the other one is large (Zini Janus). The medium one feels better but I cannot say exactly why because the Zini has a really annoying P-Tab and because of this I cannot tell if the Zini feels bad because of the P-Tab or if the insertable part is also too big.

Difficult to make any comment. Neither of your massagers are Aneros. Aneros have been specifically designed, originally for medical - health benefits. The tabs are positioned to assist. Other brands may be more of a novelty. Their designs may be less than ideal as they have to skirt around the HIH patents.
So it come back to getting an Aneros massager then working from that point. This forum is essentially an Aneros forum.

To me prostate massagers all look more or less the same. I mean even the Aneros massagers vary in size and shape. If there was something like an anatomically based perfect prostate massager shape then why are there different Aneros massagers?

Wanted to offer some input.

When I first tried to research about whether prostate massage was safe and specifically how to do it - totally apart from the Aneros knowledge base - I came across a few similarly alarming articles and videos.

I seem to recall one of them warned that prostate massage could result in death.
How?
Well...theoretically...

[LIST=1]

  • If your prostate has an acute bacterial infection
  • If you have a prostatic abscess
  • If someone sticks something sharp in your ass with enough force to rupture the abscess
  • The consequent release bacteria into the body could cause sepsis and possibly, death.
  • Lot of "ifs" there. When you have chronic pelvic pain you should first get checked to make sure everything is okay and there is no infection. Then you are good to go.

There are SO many more great articles about how beneficial prostate massage is since I started my blog in 2010. I decided to ignore the alarmist articles, and just follow the safety rules.

    [LIST=1]

  • Not too big
  • Not too fast
  • Plenty of Lube
  • Nothing Sharp
  • No Numbing agents!
  • I am not a doctor - just know a lot about prostates.
