I think the key difference between this and edging (as I know it), is that with edging you don't have to pass the "point of no return" or squeeze to hold back an ejaculation. You stay on the non-ejaculation side of things.

There's muscular tension on the build up to an ejaculation. Typically you'd control this tension/build-up by stopping/starting stimulation, but it's also possible to concentrate-away this tension and continue to stimulate while relaxing through the urge to squeeze certain muscles. In this way you can ride some nice sensations for as long as you can stand it.

the problem is for that i can do this, i have done this, but ultimately it ends in ejaculation, but you can do it in such a way that results in a weak, or terrible orgasm. The feeling of failure afterward is awful

I guess I always thought of edging as getting close to--even several times--the so called "point of no return" (where even without further stimulation or touching you'd ejaculate anyway without the ability to control doing so) but never crossing that line, so to speak. It's often used as a great way to keep up erectile function and sensitivity of us older guys but without going to the point of ejaculating and losing that "desire" feeling that you get to enjoying as you get older and the intervals between sex get a little longer.

I have, on the other hand, carefully gone to the PONR and with "pulling back" really hard, managed not to ejaculate with a resultant hot, long lasting, almost painful orgasm but with no ejaculation. But you get the old "blue balls" sensation (painful fluid pressure refluxed from the prostate into the testicles) so bad from doing this, you have to go ahead and do a traditional ejaculation shortly afterward to release the pressure and thereby end the discomfort.

I've read about other guys doing this also, so I don't think it's anything new.

Edging to me is trying to hold the front lines when your soldiers are too anxious to enter the field. It's a point where through training you can easily just masturbate for hours nearing the point of no return and yet get stinking wrecked for doing it.

It's quite possible to have a good orgasm using this technique. You either have to just totally relax and allow yourself to go over into orgasm, or spread the orgasm around the body and allow it to happen that way. It's no different to getting to orgasm using prostate stimulation just that you have to concentrate on avoiding ejaculation, which becomes easy with practice, and it results in a very nice prostate orgasm.
