Try reading this: http://wiki.malegspot.com/index.php?title=Getting_Started#Insertion
Reading the whole "Getting Started" on that webpage would be a good idea.
Thanks Chuck...what lube do u like?
Well, for me, I think you can't go wrong with Slippery Stuff Gel. It's super thick, super slippery, super long-lasting, and it's one of the most anal-safe lubes out there. Oh, and it's not real expensive; you can find a 16 oz pumper for under $20 all over the internet.
How far are you able to insert it? Are you able to get it as far as the inner sphincter? That is about 1 inch inside but varies a lot. If you have BHP then you may be going at the wrong angle. You may be be hitting the back end of the BC muscle. Are you able to get your finger inside at all, if so how far? The inner sphincter can get tight.
@ballford Are you remembering to push out as if you are triyng to squeeze one out as you push the lubed aneros in?This makes a huge difference. :-t
If you are healthy in that area, that is younger with no health issues relative to the region, or older and you've had your advised prostate exams and colonoscopic exams, you should have no issues with insertion with adequate lube and relaxing the pelvic and anal muscles. Think of relaxing your urinary sphincter to let your urine flow begin as a good way to relax the area.
If you are older and somehow have significant prostate enlargement or heaven forbid some sort of ano-rectal mass inside you could have difficulties but similarly, you should have noted other symptoms with regard to urinary flow or passage of bowel movements. I imagine you're just having trouble relaxing though.
if your just starting out you should try..
1) douche and shower , allows you to feel relaxed knowing that your empty/clean
2) prelube
3) use a finger, glove up if your hesitant.
4) then try the aneros.
When i first started i couldnt even get the peredise in... Now i can use the progasm without an issue. Alot of it was just mental.
