I'm very new to the aneros and I'm having two major issues in my sessions, I'm really hoping some one with more experience can help me out.
The first issue I'm running into is with the P Tab (I'm using The Helix BTW) After insertion It makes contact with the skin but only 1 of 2 centimeters from my anus, I all ways thought the Perineum was right on the half way point between anus and scrotum. Is this just a misconception on my part of am I doing something wrong? Also as my session go on the area the P tab is touching gets a bit sore and irritated, Does this happen to anyone else, if so how do you deal with it?
My second problem is a huge one that has ruined several of my session. I've been filling my anus with about 5ml of equate liquid lube before each session (I was told that this increases the effectiveness of the aneros). My problem with this is that when the liquid gets inside me My bowls contract and I feel just like I need to use the bathroom, it really throws off my concentration and makes it impossible to relax. Oddly enough I DO NOT get the same reaction after injecting a Jelly type lube. Does injecting jelly have the same effect as injecting a Liquid Lube?
First off, you aren't doing anything "wrong." We have no "rights" or "wrongs" here. Sometimes though some changes in technique or preparation might be helpful. Since we are all different, plan on receiving a lot of different suggestions from various members. Adopt what seems to work best for you.
P-tab "irritation" is a frequent issue and is best tackled with some form of temporary padding. Checkout the Wiki at this link: -- Advanced Skills - Aneros Wiki -- .
My fav was the medicine dropper squeeze bulb and I was able to discard it after two months. Two things happened:
-- I gained muscle tone that better defined my 'sweet spot' (read the Wiki on this) and as I became a good fit for the Helix I was able to scrap the rubber bulb.
-- As I became more relaxed with the Helix inserted, I achieved better 'hugging' of my prostate and the Helix loosened up in my rectum ... all making for less tensions on the p-tab.
Suggestion is to go with temporary solutions and avoid any permanent changes to your Helix for a couple of months or more.
Lube is a highly personalized matter but one caution is that some gents are sensitive to glycerin (a popular ingredient in water based lubes). Symptoms of this sensitivity can appear as anal irritation, bowel urgency or full blown Irritable Bowel Syndrome. Some leakage onto the perineum can also aggrevate irritation by the p-tab. (I wound up with a severe case of jock itch from a glycerin reaction.)
I was unable to quickly determine the contents of 'Equate' and suggest you investitgate and if there's glycerin in that lube, approach other glycerin lubes with caution. Incidently, some lubes well suited for the vagina don't play well in the rectum and vice versa.
Generally, starting out it's better to err on the side of excessive lube. 5ml of injected lube is probably one or two ml larger than what you'll be using in a month or two.
Enjoy, read the Wiki and post here. We're here to help.
Hi Major Ripcla,
Welcome to the Aneros Forums, your best source of information for learning about the multiple benefits and joys of using the Aneros prostate massagers. There is a wealth of information to be obtained on this website.
While the area of the perineum may be subject to varying definitions, for our purposes, we will call it the entire area between the scrotal sac and the anus. Somewhere within this sensitive area is a more concentrated area of nerves called the "sweet spot" or in Tantric/Taoist terms the "Million Dollar Point". This is the spot the P-tab was designed to massage during use. It is common for new users to experience some initial discomfort when first starting their Aneros practice and as member 'rook' noted there is some helpful advice addressing this issue in the Aneros WIKI, a little padding until you are inured to the increased pressure will probably suffice.
The lube "Equate" is a "KY Jelly" clone product which contains glycerin. Many men are sensitive to the effects of glycerin as it produces 'the urge to purge', stimulating peristaltic action. This is most likely what your are experiencing. There has been a continuing discussion on the Forum about lubrication types and issues. Next to discussions about the Super-O, lubrication is probably the next most discussed topic. I recommend you first read the Lubrication paragraph in the Getting Started chapter of the Aneros WIKI and then read through the Bestlube..., coconut oil or Unrefined shea butter... threads for additional information and insight into this topic.
P.S. I sent you an introductory PM with some additional hints and tips to get you started here.
Thanks you guys, I've got a lot of things I can try now.
