How do you know when the aneros is rubbing against the prostate and not some other part of the rectal wall?

Is it possible for an aneros model to miss the prostate entirely?

Hello Insipidtoast, 🙂

Your not going to like this answer...
I can feel it rubbing my prostate. And quite honestly, I'm not sure how to explain it better than that. Until your body starts to re-wire through practice and time, you may not feel much if any prostate sensations, let alone pleasurable ones. Hence much like a lot of other new users here, you start to wonder if the Aneros is even touching your prostate. Be patient, practice regularly, and read as much as possible in the forums, blogs, and Aneros Wiki and you will make progress. To address your last question, I don't think it is likely that an Aneros prostate massager would entirely miss a guys prostate. There may be slight variations in body geometry between men, but not likely extreme ones.

If I completely stop masturbating, and go weeks without having an orgasm would this be a way to speed up the "rewiring"?

I gotta say...This is one of the questions I think I've asked in the past and never got a clear answer to. I think Love_is answered it pretty well. However, I have been at this for a while. I'm one of the Aneros users that has hit and miss results. One day to the next is so polar opposite, it isn't even funny. I still to this day, do not really know when it is hitting my prostate. I just don't feel it. Maybe I need to practice more. I don't know. I usually have at least 2 sessions a week. I really wish there was a fool proof way of knowing if your hitting it. I have great feelings sometimes, and precum, and shakes even. However, I never know if the feelings are coming from the prostate or inner rectal walls or what. I know anatomically where the prostate is and I try to invision it during a session but I just cant focus on it. I hope someone has some more good advice for this thread. I'd love to read about it. Not gonna give up though. LOL. Still feels good.

I make sure I practice at least once a day and I started with my Aneros a month ago. I figure I have about 40 sessions "under my belt." I think I'm only beginning to get a sense of hitting the prostate. It's very hard to describe. I too was trying to visualize the anatomy as help, but for me I think that was an error. The feeling that I'm interpreting as prostate contact is well "below" where I visualize the prostate. While I feel great pleasure in many ways using the Aneros, the sensation that I interpret as hitting the prostate is a much "sharper" or focused sensation. The first couple of times I thought it was almost painful, but more because of my surprise at the intensity. As I creep up on the spot I can get glimmers of that sharp, focused electric feeling.

Even without certainty that I'm contacting my prostate, my sessions are so pleasurable that I expect to continue my commitment to daily practice. There's a huge amount of territory to explore.

Absolutely!!!!!!!!!!!!!.... in my opinion. 🙂 I only get results with the Aneros when I haven't ejaculated for a while. I wish I had enough self control to never stimulate myself to ejaculation... or better yet, have a dry orgasm instead.

How do you know if it's hitting the spot? Can I make a suggestion? If you've never had a dr. Examine your prostate or never inserted your finger into your rectum to feel your own prostate, either of these might help...although the dr. version isn't very pleasurable, it does at least let you experience what it's like when your prostate is touched. The easiest way to do this yourself is to make sure you're good and clean (squirt a little water up there and expel it) then squat down and insert a well-lubed finger inside. Your prostate will be up a little further inside, an inch or so past the top of your anal sphincter. It will feel like a round kind of little donut to your finger and when you gently press on it, it may give you the slight sensation you have to pee. When you're sexually aroused, it's much more pleasurable than when you're not (part of the reason a dr. probing it not so fun...the other reason is they press fairly hard on the gland). There's an interesting new book by Tim Ferris called "The 4-hour Body" and in the book there's a chapter on how to give your lady an awesome orgasm using a 15-minute practice technique. He describes how touching the clitoris gently is part of the secret to an awesome female orgasm. I think it's the same for the prostate. The more subtle and gentle, the more wonderful you'll feel. We guys don't do this intuitively...we like to pile drive things home. Ferris describes the female orgasm technique a man should use on his partner's clitoris like tickling the nose of a sleeping friend with a feather...enough so that they would scratch their nose but not so heavy that it would wake them. For me, this was a very apt description...for not only how to please my wife but also how my prostate should be stroked. Anyway, I recommend the book for some fun, new ideas for working out, cutting fat, bringing pleasure to the woman in your life and perhaps even adapting these orgasm techniques to your prostate. If you'll try touching it with your own finger I think it will help you sense when the Aneros is making contact. Try it...I think it will work wonders for you.

insipidtoast.

Yes, it's entirely possible to miss the prostate with an Aneros device. As one of the replies above stated, you need to know what it feels like to make contact and that can be accomplished in any number of ways. Even a small zucchini will work for that purpose.

Cheers,

Dave

I'd like to suggest the assistance of a partner. I've taught a few very good 'friends' where to find their prostate. I actually make an evening of it. I have them shower, do a enema so I can show them the options of just using a syringe vs. a standard enema bag and hose. I get them relaxed and using a gloved finger massage and gently enter the anal cavity.

I hope they are aroused at this point, as that makes the prostate much more prominent and sensitive. Then I gently stroke side to side, never up the center, and ask them what they feel when I do this. Some say it's almost like they need to urinate, others feel a sensation at the tip on their penis.

Once they have felt the prostate, I might give a little more pressure and then replace my finger with an Aneros. With a little guidance, they seem to catch on quick. Then they have wonderful homework. I find it's been a bonding experience, and these men often remember me very fondly, LOL.😉

One lucky fellow had a dry orgasm the first time out, and he'd never even had so much as a finger in his butt previous. He'd heard that I was knowledgeable and could get him on the path to MMO, so he went purely on faith. Not bad for a young man.

Having a partner help would be less expensive, time consuming and more intimate that the sterile clinical visit to a doctor (unless you have a hot medical fantasy!).

Great posts all, particularly newguy8762 and Queen Bee!,

Insipidtoast, as others have said, the chances are that the Aneros is making contact with your prostate, but that you don't relate to it as an erotic sensation at this point. The feeling of a need to urinate is probably the most common one associated with prostate contact. Is it possible that the Aneros is missing your prostate? Yes, but most often this is not the case. However, if you are 5' 6" or under in height, and have an Aneros other than the SGX, it is possible that the model that you have is not engaging your prostate directly. The previous posts have offered some good suggestions for locating your prostate. Once you have done so and are somewhat familiar with that sensation, try the following; insert the Aneros and once you are relaxed take your hand and gently pivot the massager upwards towards your lower abdomen/pelvis. If the Aneros is properly engaging your prostate, the sensation should be similar to what you experienced with your digital exploration. (Btw. with respect to finding your prostate yourself, I find that a squatting position often affords the easiest access).

Here's a test that sort of works in "reverse:"

After you've had a number of relaxed Aneros sessions and have a good sense of how things feel when you are inserted with the MGX, Helix or other Aneros prostate tool, insert a Peridise.

If you sense a 'hollow' or 'vacant' feeling when you contract, you'll know that you did have prostate contact with the Aneros.

Then you can be confident that it's just a matter of 'awakening' your prostate to all the available pleasures.

I agree entirely with Korkelz. Although lets get the terminology correct. You want to abstain from ejaculation, not orgasm. 😉 What you are trying to teach your body through the use of the Aneros is to separate the experience of orgasm from ejaculation. That being said. Having come from a daily habit of masturbation to ejaculation each time, practicing ejaculation abstinence was the single most successful thing I changed that effectively pushed my Aneros progress forward big time.

As far as feeling the prostate, like BF Mayfield said, it is a learned experience that we as men do not typically associate with arousal and pleasurable feelings. So for some men this can take time to get there when they start their Aneros journey. I will say that in the past I've mistaken the sensation of the P-tab on my perineum as the prostate sensation. But this is definitely something different. I know darned well when my prostate is aroused and being touched/rubbed by the Aneros. But I don't know how to explain it. And it was only through practice and time that I reached this point.

I think I may be contacting my prostate for the first time in my last couple of sessions. At the moment I experience it as vaguely uncomfortable - almost a mild ache. When I really tune in on the sensation, I can imagine there might be some pleasure "underneath," but for now I'm taking it on faith that stimulating the prostate will result in pleasure.

I think it's taken me this long (maybe 50 sessions) because I was experiencing so much pleasure without the prostate being involved. As I continue my practice I'm beginning to think that my early pleasure was more associated with the penis, in spite of my thinking that I was changing the locus of pleasure.

The journey continues.

Hey, insipidtoast. I've never noted a strong correlation between how easily super-O's come in a given session and how long it's been since my last traditional ejaculatory orgasm such as with my wife. I've had incredible super-O's the following day, other times it seemed to help to wait longer before attempting a session. As to feeling it hit my prostate, it took me several months to learn that feeling and I think it takes rewiring to become fully sensitive to what the feeling of contact with it is like. I think it's unlikely that any Aneros massager won't make some degree of contact with your gland; it will simply take time for you to fully appreciate the sensation of that contact. I like to warm my massager (my Eupho's my favorite) and as soon as I lube and slip it in, I feel tingling pleasurable contact that within minutes builds into dry orgasms. With time you should be able to also.

slimjim,

I'm glad you posted that comment. The conventional wisdom around here seems to be that you should refrain from conventional sex if you want to maximize the Aneros effect. That's not true for many of us. As you said, once the prostate is "awake" (took me 2 weeks), many users can freely mix regular sex and Aneros without one interfering with the other.

Cheers,

Dave

Hello Folks, 🙂

My apologies for making it sound like ejaculation abstinence is the answer for everyone. It's what worked for me, and I've noticed from my readings here that it has also helped others. So it's information I like to pass along. It's just another thing to try if you find yourself not progressing in your journey. Perhaps once I achieve super-O's it will be a different story and I won't have to abstain as much or at all. With that in mind though, even when I do ejaculate once every two to three weeks, I often times have a very good Aneros session many hours later that same day, or the next day. I think the thing being thatfor me, ejaculating daily really robs a lot of my arousal and sexual energy. And kept me too focused on penis centric pleasurable sensations rather than prostate and anal. The Aneros journey is different for everyone, but there are some general guidelines that seem to be helpful for a lot of guys, but not all. You just have to experiment.

ten_s_nut,

Two weeks is amazingly fast. Took me a total of almost 9 months to rewire. Wasn't sure I could even feel contact with my prostate for the first couple months.

The reason I ask if the progasm can miss the prostate is because I feel more sensations when I take it out about halfway, then manually move the device. Doing this actually did make me pee once.

Also, I have used my own fingers before to try to stimulate the prostate. Since my fingers don't penetrate nearly as far as the progasm, I assume one of two things. My prostate is not very deep past the anal sphincter and somewhat insensitive....or my prostate lies well beyond the reach of my middle finger and I still need to "awaken" the sensations to notice stimulation with the progasm.

If my prostate isn't very deep, would the hump towards the base of the progasm be enough to stimulate me to orgasm?

Hello Insipidtoast, 🙂

What you are experiencing is very common of new Aneros users. Search or browse through the forums here and you will know this to be the case. You are not getting any prostate sensations from your Progasm because you haven't put enough time and practice into it to awaken your prostate and re-wire. Do your very best to stop obsessing about it not touching your prostate. And have regular sessions with no expectations that you will get any pleasure from it, it's just practice. You will make progress, just give it time.

How do you know when the aneros is rubbing against the prostate and not some other part of the rectal wall?

Is it possible for an aneros model to miss the prostate entirely?

Going back to the start of the thread ---

Accept the Aneros as-is. Avoid "trying" to change what you feel when inserted. If it rubs against another part of the rectal wall, accept those feelings and treasure them. The rectum doesn't have any sensory nerves but does have "tactile sensitivity" just like the hair on your thighs.

Appreciate and treasure what you do feel. Ask for nothing more. Cease, "trying"
