I'm making some progress, but I feel like my muscles are gripping the device. How much "slide" should I experience and what is the best way to promote this over a grip?

Welcome! How long have been using your aneros?
TG
Thank you. I've been using it about every other day since November 1st.
Does it feel like the device is dry and sticking to your insides or a scratchy feeling? If so you should use more lube or a different lube. The less friction the better for your muscles to move it freely. What are you using for lube?
Thank you. I've been using it about every other day since November 1st.Ok, that's a good schedule for starting your journey.
As far as the amount of "slide" you can expect, assuming you mean in-and-out movement of the aneros, you shouldn't expect much!
Some men experience in-and-out movement, but not to a great degree, such that nothing more than even a half-inch, or even less, is detectable.
Rather, most movement, if any, is detected inside and against the anal wall adjacent to the prostate.
This is partly why it takes some time for us to detect any stimulation of the Prostate since the aneros is pushing against the anal canal to stimulate it!
As you exercise your PC muscles, and they become stronger, it won't likely feel like you are gripping the aneros as much as you are learning how to gently maneuver the aneros across your prostate to stimulate it!
Further down the road, your PC muscles alone may have the potential for fully stimulating your prostate without the aneros being inserted...which is absolutely amazing!
Keep on your schedule, and increase the frequency of your sessions if possible!

Good advice from TG there. In addition, it sounds like you may be using a water based lube, these tend to dry out within an hour or even less. lots of us use unrefined shea butter as it stays slippery for ages. I recommend giving that a go. And remember use plenty of it.
This is a good question! My advice for avoiding the gripping is to try to keep an eye on your breathing. Tension is bad, so make sure you release on the exhale. I find that when the breathing comes from deeply within, the exhale will somehow force the sphincter to relax. Sometimes when a sudden good feeling appears, you'll be tempted to kind of hold your breath in suspense. This doesn't work, so just keep on breathing steadily, and try to release any bodily tension on the exhale. In my experience, the breathing can stay the same speed during the entire session. There is no need to breathe faster and faster! Letting out some quiet moans now and then may feel good, though
Thanks for the great info!
The experience may be a bit different from mine, but here goes.
I use water based. Aneros sessions lube, or anything that is it's equivalent I use.
I pour a line down the Aneros tool of choice (like ketchup down a hotdog I guess) and then use my
left index finger to spread it evenly around the aneros. I tap any extra on the tip to remove excess from my finger. I use the leftover from my finger to prelube the entry point.
That's all I use. I usually go about 2 hours and I never have had any issues with excess friction at this point.
I have tried using about 5ml's with an injector, the sensation of the extra lube feels good, but it just didn't seem like it was doing anything. I think the pressure just from having more fluid inside me was the enjoyable part 🙂
