How important is the sweet spot really?

Regular user since Feb, still grinding away, hunting for that first dry orgasm. During that time, I've never thought much about the exact position of the tab. After reading deeper into the subject of the so-called "sweet spot," I've come to notice I may be missing a key ingredient in the dry-o recipe: perineum pleasure.

The Helix tab is very gentle against me. So gentle that if I splay my legs wide open and relax, it actually loses contact with my perineum completely. As long as I leave my legs in a more natural position, the tab functions as an anchor point, so I never thought much about it. I tried the MGX twice, and it was less than fun. The tab is too prominent for me and it makes my perineum very sore. The Helix is far more comfortable. I'm just afraid it might be too comfortable.

Is the "sweet spot" really as essential as the guides seem to suggest?

The "sweet spot" that is often mentioned and asked about on this forum can be elusive. Finding your ‘sweet spot’ on the perineum may take some time – please see 'B Mayfield's definition & description in his post In Search of the Sweet Spot. I've been a user for more than ten years now and I still have not found my "sweet spot" but have had many orgasms and hours of pleasure from Aneros use anyway. I wouldn’t become overly concerned with locating that specific spot to the point of ignoring the many other aspects of learning. I have personally found that there is an area approximately 1" in diameter, located mid point between my scrotum and anus, that has marginally increased sensitivity in the perineal area. The P-tab placed anywhere in this area is equally effective for me. I think the "sweet spot" size, location and sensitivity are just additional variables between individuals. I wouldn't worry too much about your specific "sweet spot", I've poked all around this area with my finger pressing lightly, moderately and even firmly enough to cause discomfort, all to no avail. It's great if you are able to locate a specific spot but I think the most important thing is to understand the whole perineum area is a nerve intense zone. The P-tab of your Aneros will stimulate this area to create the sensory feedback loop necessary to drive arousal higher. Please don't make finding that specific spot an obstacle or obsession for you, the essential importance is the stimulation to this nerve area. I hope this eases your concerns so you can concentrate on enjoying and developing the feelings/sensations your massager will induce.
Good Vibes to You !

I had the same thing with the Helix... the p-tab barely touches my taint. I've used heat to bend the arm of the p-tab and experimented with different locations. Results were promising, and it did make a big difference to how the Helix "handled". The thing you have to remember about the p-tab, is that it's not just for stimulating the sweet spot, it's also the fulcrum or pivot point to how the whole aneros can move (which makes it extra fun to do). I've modified several of my aneros models this way, but it's a dark road to go down, because if you change your mind, you have to heat it up again... and if you do that enough times, eventually the arm gets a bit mangled looking and also feels a bit more brittle. And if you decide moving it at all was a terrible idea, you'll probably never get it back to exactly where it was before.

I have other anal toys besides the Aneros. They generally do not contain anything that hits the perineum and I notice the difference in feeling right away! As I am starting an Aneros session, I "feel back there" to make sure the tab is at least in gentle contact with my perineum. Then, I leave it alone for the rest of the session.

For me, the helix syn was too gentle as well; didnt put a lot of pressure on the perineum and sometimes it would just slip to the side. I changed to helix classic, which became my favourite model. I like its rigidity, which causes the ptab to exert greater pressure on my perineum and thereby enhancing pleasure. Also, it enhances the pivotal action of the aneros. With the helix classic, i sometimes really feel like it is pivoting around the ptab as it moves inside me. Wonderful feeling ! 🙂

Actually, I've only ever used the Helix Classic. I don't own a Helix Syn.

I see. Well, i cannot locate.my sweet spot easily either. I managed to do it once or twice, resulting in the tingling feeling inside the penis tip as described here in a forum topic. But with the aneros this never really happens. It does exert pressure though, which feels good on the perineum.
