How deep should it go?

I've owned an aneros for, I think, 6 months and the helix around 4 months.

My question is, how deep should it go? I am starting to suspect I'm doing it wrong because I only have had once or twice something resembling orgasmic feelings. It feels great usually, which is why I still use it, but I've only had something resembling orgasm twice (which means it feels almost on the level of ejaculating).

I saw this video, explaining how to use it: http://www.lovehoney.co.uk/sex-toys-tv/player.cfm?videoid=209

He said it is inserted into "here" and pointed at the mid-level (in height, just above the tab in the image here. Or the point which is almost in the middle of the image)

then continued with "and the body will draw it in naturally" and his finger moved to the very bottom, the very thin point which is touching the handle/bar.

Should the helix go as far as that? I always let it stop above there because that is where it stops naturally for me, it never gets drawn in as far as that. I started suspecting this because the tab doesn't really touch my "sweet spot" (as i've heard it being referred to here) as hard as it should to let me feel it.

I'd really like some advice here, thanks a lot.

Hi Wodan,

I just watched that video of Michael from Aneros and felt that it was a bit confusing. If it naturally went in that far, that tab would be gouging in from the start. There have been quite a few threads over the years about the Helix in particular and the position it should be in when inserted. With me, the tab is usually just grazing my perineum at the beginning. The pivot point is the thinnest part of the body of the Helix. Not where the body of the Helix attaches to the handle but the thinnest part of the body itself. During the contractions of a Super O, the Helix is then drawn in farther and there is more contact made. It sounds as though you are on the right track if you have been experiencing some nice feelings. What is the model that you started with?

I started with the mgx, but was growing impatient with it. I do like using the aneros, both the mgx and the helix, but I can only get to it feeling really good once in a while. The rest it is usually just feeling like it is "teasing" and then it doesn't really give all that much. The reason i keep going at it is finishing off masturbating feels awesome, so I know it is touching the prostate, but I was hoping I could get to at least mini-o's reliably.

I can do a session for several hours and have tried most tips I have seen on the forums. Relaxing, not-really-relaxing, watching porn and not, using my imagination etc. What works best for me is taking a shower, watching some porn and then shutting off every light source and using my imagination. I never tried touching my penis during a session up to this point (but I will try after I read a thread in here), it's just excruciatingly hard not to just start ignoring everything and masturbating at that point.

I found my sweet spot just a few days ago by pushing my finger against it. I tried to reposition my hand because my hand muscles couldn't hold on, but then I lost where it was. Too bad, because I felt that if the tab would have touched it like that, I would definately get an O. I did mess around after that and later I did get something I could classify as a mini-O. So that is what I count as my second success.

After the success of pushing the sweet spot, I was thinking the reason I don't get much result is because it's not stimulated enough. I've tried to modify the MGX before and add a lot of material to the tab (using a low-temp gluegun adding a lot of plastic to it. It works great! The plastic is stable and it's easy to mold). The modified MGX pushes the sweet spot pretty well, but I almost havent tried using it since I got the helix. I am thinking trying to modify the helix as well (and I could change my mind later on and remove the dried glue if I want).
