th my helix.hi all. well after several months i still dont seem to be getting to far with my helix. I can get to the point where it 'pulls' me down on the bed but i cant seem to get much further. Am i not giving it enough time? Am i not lubed enough? I can grind myself to an orgasm but not from contractions. I usually contract for 15-20 seconds then relax for 10 seconds. Is this correct? I get some great intense feelings but no orgasm. Any help and tips would be great.

Second question ..is it advisable to use a vibrating prostate massager or is that dangerous ?

the_thinker,

Please see my response to 'grayfox' regarding 'right vs.wrong', 'correct vs. incorrect' in ones approach to Aneros practice. There are an endless variety of combinations you can employ in your Aneros practice, finding a combination which is effective for you is about doing a lot of experimentation. I suggest you just start trying other combinations to see if things change a bit, you might try 30 seconds on, 30 seconds off, or vary the intensity of your contractions, perhaps try repeated contraction-releases as fast as you can, for as long as you can and see where the muscle fatigue effect takes you. There are just so many variations, one could be writing all day trying to describe them. Be creative, use your imagination to adventurously try something that intrigues you.

In regards to your second question, while there have been many posts which mention vibrator usage, this one was pretty specific about the topic. Two veterans, 'B Mayfield' & 'darwin' posted opposing viewpoints on this subject. I agree with Mr. Mayfield's analysis but I am also open minded enough to accept vibrator usage, as suggested by 'darwin', a viable tool as well.

you might consider another model too. I own most all of them and have success with them all except the helix. that one has just never done anything for me.

Check for good relaxation and lube...

...by noting Helix movement with just your normal breathing. If you're well relaxed and lubed your normal breathing should cause the Helix to slide in and out, just a bit. If not, do some relaxation exercises. (check the link in the last sentence of the Wiki on relaxation.) Once you get a sense of deep relaxation then you can better gauge your contractions.

Try different body positions.

Helix is sensitive to gravity and the head will tilt 'downward.' Your strongest prostate contact will probably be while on your stomach or all-fours. You should find a position on your side that also provides good contact. Relaxed, on your back, you may feel Helix lying against the lower part of your anal canal with little prostate contact. Nice for some cool anal action butt, maybe not what you're shooting for right now.

You can make a small alteration in prostate contact by padding the p-tab on the Helix with the bulb from a medicine dropper. Someone recently suggested the tip of a nipple from a baby's bottle.

My vibe story: My first serious p-spot tool, a gift from my wife, was a very high priced, brand-name, vibe (remote, variable intensity, variable frequency etc etc.) There was no setting low enough that could provide the sort of subtle stimulation needed to properly light up my prostate. I'd say, save your money. Butt, to get an idea of what a vibe might do, tape a standard bullet vibe to the handle on the Helix. You can vary the intensity by wrapping some thin foam around the bullet. The Aneros store has such a bullet -- Accessories For Your Aneros -- ... hth

Try one of the others. The helix is just ok with me, but the eupho hits my spot much better. Better then the Progasm, which also works well. One size never really fits all.

I think possibly another model might help but as it can be an expensive experiment testing different ones out i am gonna start by laying on my front and seeing if thats any better. thanks for all your replies

For me, each model has its own positive attributes. I can't image being with only one.
Does that make me an aneros whore?

This is my own opinion...
But lately I've seen a lot of posts from guys here that started to really have some good progress after they purchased and started using the Progasm. Which corresponds with my own experience of owning the Helix and MGX in that order, and then buying the Progasm. Now I'm certainly not implying that you should keep buying new Aneros models. As it is quite likely that you can make good progress with what you have. You just may be one of the long term grinders like me.

But my own experience of three plus years has shown that my body seemed to often favor one model over another at different times in my journey. Now I'm at the point where the Progasm does almost nothing for me, and the Helix, and MGX in particular is what rocks my boat! 😀 So if it weren't for the shear size of the Progasm, I'd say it would be a great beginners model. It's just that guys that are new to anal play can have a difficult time inserting something that big in them. But it's not impossible. 🙂

You should make sure your Aneros p-tab is hitting your "sweet spot". There are institutions on doing this on the wiki. I had good results with the Helix as-is within the first 2 weeks, but I decided to map the "swwet spot" just in case. When I put the Helix in, the p-tab was right on target. That may be why I had early success. Hope this helps!

the thinker,

You received some very good responses here. While several months may seem like a long time, in terms of the awakening that you are seeking, it is not. Very often what occurs in the first months of ones journey has to do with learning about your body. I would certainly agree with many of the suggestions that have been made here and would add for you to try working with gentle contractions and be attentive to the subtle sensations that such contractions can produce. These are routinely ignored by new users. The Super O is generated from these kinds of sensations.
