Helix -- first time -- and some questions

Got and tried my Helix last night for the first time.

I followed instructions to the letter -- or so I thought. And while I had some good contractions and pleasurable feelings along the way, I didn't have an orgasm.

After an hour or so, I ended ep finishing myself off the old fashioned way. I will say it was much better than normal that way -- the volume and distance of ejaculate were better than I had seen in ages.

But a few questions for the board:

-- Did you find that using porn was a distraction at first. It seemed to help initially, but I actually found, partway through, more pleasure by concentrating more on my Aneros and less on the porn.

-- Does having larger buttocks inhibit the movement of the device? I felt it moving, but thought maybe it should be moving more.

-- It just didn't feel like it was consistently hitting "the spot." Does that get better over time?

-- Do any of you taller people have trouble hitting the spot with a Helix? Just wondering if the device has physical limitations based on my 6'3" height.

-- PLEASE tell me it gets better. I know that it's a journey, not a race, but yada, yada, yada...

Small world....I, too, got my Helix yesterday and had my first session last night with the same kinds of concerns/questions. Nothing much seemed to be happening. Started off with porn, then turned it off, tried to focus on the feeling....some pleasurable sensations, but light, small, hardly the kind of thing I've been reading in these forums prior to purchase. After about an hour, took it out, switched the porn back on, and finished off.

Would like to get feedback on the Helix, much like the original poster....

I would not try to follow the instructions "to the letter" (did you read the WIKI? The instructions on the package are not good IMHO). Do what works for YOU and use the WIKI as a guide.
If you had pleasurable feelings on the first try you are way ahead of most users!

1) Porn IS a distraction. It's good for a warm up, but during the session is not good practice.
2) Larger buttock would not impede movement. Everybody's insides are basically the same.
3) The rewiring process takes time. Your body will adjust to the new sensations and it will feel that it is hitting the right spot after continued use.
4) Eupho might be a better option for a taller person BUT the Helix is more aggressive on the prostate, so you might get faster results with it.

Hope this helps!

MLFHunter,

Welcome to the Aneros Forums, your best source of information for learning about the multiple benefits and joys of using the Aneros prostate massagers. There is a wealth of information to be obtained on this website. Have you read through the Sticky thread New to the Aneros Forums? Start Here!? Have you read the Getting Started section of the Aneros WIKI? Have you read the introductory PM with some additional hints and tips I sent you?

Got and tried my Helix last night for the first time. I followed instructions to the letter -- or so I thought. And while I had some good contractions and pleasurable feelings along the way, I didn't have an orgasm.

IMHO, you should treat the "Instructions" as "Guidelines" for starting this sensual journey, they are not rules and they do not constitute a universal formula for success. While you may not have had an orgasm it is important to understand that orgasms and ejaculations are separate events, so please do not confuse the two. Congratulations on hitting a few of the Milestones on your very first attempt, this bodes well for your future.

After an hour or so, I ended up finishing myself off the old fashioned way. I will say it was much better than normal that way -- the volume and distance of ejaculate were better than I had seen in ages.

This is what may be called The Super-T, I would caution against this practice during the learning period developing your Super-O capability. You may establish habits which interfere with your ability to reach the Super-O. Please read the Penis, NOT! thread by 'Cockadoodle' and 'rook's thread Whole Body/Whole Mind - the mental side for a little insight into the psychological aspects of this practice.

Did you find that using porn was a distraction at first. It seemed to help initially, but I actually found, partway through, more pleasure by concentrating more on my Aneros and less on the porn.

High arousal levels are an important contributor to orgasmic success and viewing pornography can certainly contribute toward that end. However, it can also be a distraction to focusing upon the subtle sensations being generated by your own body. It is through nurturing your own sensations that intense pleasure may follow. You may be interested in reading the user Poll - Are you aroused by Porn?.

Does having larger buttocks inhibit the movement of the device? I felt it moving, but thought maybe it should be moving more.

NO, the relative size of your butt shouldn't make any difference and understand that the Aneros devices do not need to move much at all to provide the stimulating massage leading to orgasms. You may wish to view the user Poll - Aneros Movement, How far does it move? to see how your fellow members view this.

It just didn't feel like it was consistently hitting "the spot." Does that get better over time?

Most likely it will, most men need to go through a period of prostate "awakening" as they learn about the response patterns of their own bodies.

Do any of you taller people have trouble hitting the spot with a Helix? Just wondering if the device has physical limitations based on my 6'3" height.

Assuming your internal anatomy is normal, the proportional variations between men 5'-6"(1.68m) & 6'-6"(1.98m) are easily accommodated by the Helix.

PLEASE tell me it gets better.

OK, It Gets Better! 🙂

Patience and practice, my friend, patience and practice. Your questions are normal, as are your initial experiences.

Every guy is different, so you may be a fast "awakener" (is that a word?) or not. Believe us when we tell you that the work is worth it in the long run.
