I was just wondering how well it works? Or maybe grape seed oil

@jja, many have used extra virgin olive oil and myself personally. It works very well and about the same as silicone in my opinion. Just be careful as it has a slight yellow coloring that can stain sheets and the such.

@jja, I've been using it for a long time, works fine but as ikneverknew says it can be staining. The last couple of months I'm into Boy Butter (water based) . I like the little numbing effect and it is very adhesive to the toys and can easily be removed with water.

Re staining: Sweet Almond Oil is good with less colour some brands even none, and Castor Oil has no colour.

I just switched from slippery stuff gel with shea butter to coconut oil with shea butter. Very good results.

The coconut oil is the liquid lube like slippery stuff or olive oil or almond oil. The great part is that it is just barely a solid at room temperature. It inserts as a solid and then quickly melts. The shea butter stays solid a bit longer and provides a thicker long lasting lube.

Almond oil works well too but like olive oil it is a liquid and is a bit messier.

Did not like it at all!
Was not better then my normal water based lube.
I stay with my normal lube.

I regularly use 5-8 ml olive oil followed by 5ml of A and D ointment that is essentially lanolin using a "sawed off" 5 ml syringe whose cut off end I've rounded by heat. It gives consistently smooth, no watery lubrication. The downside: the first rectal contents expelled after a session solidify and stick to the toilet bowl. This is an economical and easily available combination. I've used olive oil alone and the lanolin alone also but find the combination better

The limited experience I have had with oils is that they all stain the sheets and they tend to leak during use. There is also the problem that all oils are more difficult to cleanup than non-oilly lubricants.

I am still a strong advocate of unrefined shea butter combined with KY gel (just to ease insertion).

I also use Vaseline instead of shea butter on occasions when travelling or for impromptu sessions when Iv'e failed to prepare with shea butter before going to bed!

I honestly have yet to be persuaded that any alternatives are worth the trouble!

1dl? isn`t that very much? Won`t it drip out and stain your bed?

I`ve quit using the syringe. I just apply a generous amount of vaseline, maybe 2ml.. Gets alot of movement with that to.

Alex_xxx: I do put a towel on the sheets, just in case, but I have really not had a problem with leakage. The A&D ointment is lanolin and petroleum jelly. When I used vaseline alone, I did not find that gave the slippery lube that the lanolin did. I found that water based lube like KY actually stung inside. I haven't been able to find simple Shea butter, but it is also greasy. It goes back to my Aneros "motto": WWFY: whatever works for you! As far as the syringe is concerned, it may be that I actually insert less than the total volume. But the syringe gets it into the rectal ampulla (chamber) and not just externally. My experiences with the Helix-syn have become reproducibly very good and limited only by my exhaustion and needing to get up early the next day. Cheers.

@Armon-neat,

As you say, WWFY. Each to his own.

FYI, unrefined shea butter is not greasy and washes out easily with a little soap and water. If your experience has been that it is greasy, it probably wasn't unrefined but contained some greasy additive.

works great as lube. Makes clean up harder as it doesn't wipe off easily.

We'll, since my last July's post above: I have discovered what all you Shea butter fans already knew. I've switched to Shea, but still use olive oil as an adjunct. I'll load ugh the 10 mL sawed off syringe with a plug of Shea butter and add olive oil to fill in the gaps and insert it all the way up. Then ill coat the Helix with a thin coat of Shea and add a greasing of olive oil. That makes the device really slippery. Shea butter is now my lube of choice!

Thanks @HopefulMMOer and no problems yet with the oil. It is slick and it doesn't leave a mess. Easy clean up and soap gets it right off the skin. Its better then spit and vaseline.
