Looking to modify the handle or tab? One word: Sugru.

Interesting !

will it take the temperatures of common casting materials ?

and, is it potentially toxic ?

@quadium, What is "Sugru"?

@sublevel, I have always cut mine using a small pair of wire cutters and then cleaned up using a Dremel moto-tool. As you say, dead easy!

Hello! Question, why would you guys want to modify/cut the tab of your Aneros? Does it get in the way of something?

FWIW, The white plastic (acetal) needs around 170C to soften and lose its memory. An hot air gun is okay, flame is always too hot and will burn the plastic. The SYNs red plastic softens around the same temp. I cut and re shaped the handles on my SGX, MGX, HELIX, EUPHO AND SYNs, and very slightly altered the distance between the stem and p-tab on my SGX, MGX . But it is not just the distance it is the angle also. So the distance/angle ratio is constant.
I have not touched the Progasm Jnr and ICE, these are best left alone.
The above is not advice, it is simply what I have done with mine for me.

@SrSalisbury,Like your handle by the way!

Cutting off the curly part of the handle of most Aneros models means that you remove a projection that sticks out from below your bum cheeks. This can be a problem for this who prefer to use their tools while lying on their backs. That is not actually my favourite position, but I did find that when moving from one position to another, particularly if this involved being on my back, the thing tended to get in the way and that is the greatest distraction you can imagine. It just kills the mood, if you get my drift.

This isn't a problem with Progasms and Vices since they don't have that curly bit anyway.

Sugru is a room-temperature cure silicone that you shape like silly putty and let cure overnight. It bonds quite well to most materials. It would be useful for adding a little soft material to the P-tab, maybe bringing it a little closer to the perineum or widening it a bit. I would think this would be better than heating and bending the tab. One might also use it to add a soft nub to a snipped tail (in addition to filing off the rough, pointy end where you cut it). I wouldn't recommend using it on the part of the device that goes inside. The only other caveat is that you probably want to avoid using it with a silicone-based lube.

Would it be possible for you to post pix or a link showing how you used the sugru for your modifications? I am interested in this and pix would be helpful. Thanks.
