The first night with my helix Syn (not trident) was wonderful, very pleasureable. Lately my sessions have been almost like a dud, almost no feelings at all. The only good feelings I start to get is when I first lay in my back and it feels like the spincter is very minorly almost not noticeablelly twitching, it feels like it’s twitching then again it feels like very minor involuntary contractions starting, so I’m not really sure what it even is but then they go away. It seems very hard to go in aroused because I take antidepressants which really kills my urge to get aroused a lot. I wait a few days per session to see what happens and nothing is happening. Any advice? I go into sessions with no expectations either

I'm sorry to hear you're on antidepressants, they can be real libido killers. My first advice would be to suggest you speak with your doctor about perhaps trying a different antidepressant as that could be a very simple solution. Secondly, you could ask your doctor if a decreased dosage might still work for you without the libido damaging side effect. Thirdly, you might want to have your testosterone levels checked as low testosterone can also contribute to low libido. I do hope you can get off the antidepressants soon, see if you can get into a controlled study group using psilocybin as a treatment therapy for depression. it shows great promise as a cure.

High arousal levels are necessary for the most pleasurable Anerosessions (please see Are you "aroused"?). IMHO, it is counterproductive to begin an Anerosession unaroused, thinking that your Aneros tool will drive you to orgasm, it just isn't going to happen that way so the solution is to find ways to increase your arousal level prior to starting a session. Have you considered trying some self Tease and denial play, an edging session prior to an Anerosession or try some semen retention regime (please see Aneros, Arousal & Abstinence/Semen Retention and 21 day challenge post).

Good Vibes to You!

@rumel thanks, I’m on Zoloft aka sertraline and I’m on the lowest dosage which is 25mg, I think it’s for anxiety or depression, more likely anxiety because I’ve been very anxious these past two years. I’m on the high functioning spectrum wheel of autism as well and it seems to help both my conditions but not entirely, I’m afraid to go on any other medications because I’m worried it’ll turn me into a zombie, I’m always sleepy as hell when I take the medication.

@train-man-anthony Just want to say you may be right about the medication being part of the problem. Years ago I was prescribed Remeron (mirtazapin) as a sleep aid and my sessions went from "pretty good" to "nothing" after a couple of weeks. It worked for the sleep but I had too many side effects and stopped after a while. My sessions quickly improved after that. Like @rumel said talk to your doctor, but meanwhile even if you're not feeling much, it does not mean that nothing is happening and you can still try different things with the Aneros inserted, like nipple play or doing kegels or anal contractions of different strength and duration. You might not get the full effect but in my opinion everything you learn about your body this way will be useful in later sessions. I hope things improve for you, anxiety is no joke.

Edited to add : it may seem weird, but if you get feelings when first laying down and they go away, try getting up for a moment and laying down again and see if it happens again. It may trigger something... Naturally you can't do a whole session that way, but that would give you more information to work with.

@zentai true, thanks for the tips. Lately though I’ve actually been having pretty decent sessions, so maybe the medication plays a small role in the issues but it’s most likely me. like this afternoon (I’m fully clothed in my PJ’s) as I don’t want anyone to walk in and see me naked on the bed with a plug in my ass, lmao. I just laid back and relaxed and felt my Syn gently twitch occasionally, no contractions. (Do nothing method). Eventually I began to get that warm, distinct feeling starting to grow around my prostate but alas, I lost the feeling. What else is new... I switched lube from coconut oil to some type of really good Shea butter gel for hair or something,  that stays slippery for a long time, man that shit burns when first using it though, plus it leaves a really good smell on my hands for hours but that gets annoying after a while honestly no matter how hard I scrub and wash my hands the smell is always slightly there. might just go back to coconut oil. Still new to chosen which lube to use basically.

Yeah who knows what's in that gel, if you can't wash it from your hands, I would not put it inside you... and that burning sensation, that stuff just does not seem safe long term.

Coconut oil is fine and last quite some time, it's a good choice. Water based is fine most of the times if you don't react to glycerin. There's a recipe you can find on the forum for "natural jelly" which is coconut oil and beeswax and works better than straight oil or water based lubes in my opinion but is better kept in the fridge if you want it to last.

There's a lot of stuff on the market, keep trying differents brands until you find what works for you. I settled on Astroglide Gel but it's not perfect either... easy to clean and doesn't dry too quickly.

As an aside, if you're afraid that someone could walk up on you, that could really mess with your ability to completely relax. It will always be at the back of your mind. Try to get some privacy, or have sessions early in the morning or late at night while everyone is asleep if you cannot have the house to yourself. Good luck and keep at it !

@zentai I threw that away the other day and will never use it again, bought some other type of water based lube and have no issues since with any burning. what’s strange is yesturday I was fully relaxed feeling my Syn slightly twitch inside of me, then I can only describe like an anal itch forming, but it didn’t really feel like an itch. My thighs without warning started to move on there own up and down like my body wanted me to, so I did. Didn’t really give much pleasure at first but at the same time it felt pretty damn good after a few minutes of doing it, then everything went silent again. Gonna wait a week of no sessions and see what happens.

There has been a continuing discussion on the Forum about lubrication types and issues. Next to discussions about the Super-O, lubrication is another frequently discussed topic. I recommend you first read the Lubrication paragraph in the Getting Started chapter of the Aneros WIKI and then read through the Bestlube..., Need Help with lube choice, coconut oil, Coconut Oil and Unrefined shea butter..., threads for additional information and insight into this topic. Most commercially prepared, water based personal lubricants contain glycerin which has laxative effects and depending on the sensitivity of the individual, may cause the dreaded "urge to purge" syndrome cutting short one's Anerosession. Additionally, glycerin when synthesized by the body may lead to elevated triglyceride levels in the blood. However, other individuals seem to be unaffected by the small amounts of glycerin in these lubricants. In any event, glycerin (whether naturally or synthetically derived) is but one of many chemical constituents in these lubes.

As far as I know there have been no long term studies of the health effects of commercially prepared or natural personal lubricants. Because of the frequency and duration of Anerosessions the use of commercial personal lubricants has become a subject of concern for a number of Forum members due to the repeated exposure to the chemical constituents contained in these products and their long term health effects. Many members have chosen to seek out more natural lubricants in hopes of ameliorating any long term negative effects. There are many choices for natural lubrication, it is more a matter of personal preference which particular lube you choose to use. Olive, coconut, walnut and almond oils are all popular alternative natural lube choices, shea butter is another popular natural lubricant. These natural lubricants do not contain glycerin.

The rectal wall is a highly permeable membrane, easily absorbing water and the chemicals therein. While natural oil lubes do get absorbed like water based lubes, the absorption rate is slower and as the viscosity of the oil increases, the absorption rate decreases. Hence lighter weight (low viscosity) oils like grape seed and olive oil will be more readily absorbed and disperse more rapidly than heavier oils (higher viscosity) like almond oil or canola oil. Personally, I am concerned about the uptake of the various chemicals in commercial 'personal lubricants'. Since I've developed a sensitivity to the glycerin found in many of the commercial lubricants, I've switched to using natural oil based lubricants such as a 50%-50% mixture of almond oil and shea butter or a 67% coconut oil - 33% shea butter mixture or the 'Natural Jelly' formulation. These compounds are safe for use with both the plastic and silicone Aneros models. I find these natural lubes are both long lasting and of sufficient lubricity to not hinder desired Aneros movement for long Anerosessions.

Good Vibes to You!

@rumel late reply but thanks, I stopped using that stuff. I toke a break from sessions and also masterbation for a week. Had one session today and it was very active, felt my prostate getting warmer and warmer till I had that feeling of shooting pleasure around the prostate, what’s that sound like to you?
