Hi,
This isn't directly about the aneros, but I would still really appreciate some help with a few queries I have. I've been slowly building up the courage to order the aneros for almost 2 years now (Pathetic I know), and I've finally decided that I'm going to be picking up a helix as soon as I have the cash and free time to really experiment.
To prepare myself for this kind of stimulation (only used fingers before, with little real result), I recently purchased a fairly cheap vibrating butt-plug of sorts. It's a little bit too big, but I've had a what I'd consider a fairly successful first session with it, I've got a few questions. I hope someone can answer them.
1. After the inital discomfort and difficulty keeping the buttplug in, I noticed my body began to automatically draw the plug in, up to the hilt every few seconds, before again releasing. Is this similar to the 'involuntaries' you guys talk about happening with the Aneros? These involuntaries ranged from being pretty unremarkable to feeling very nice (almost electric).
2. One really frustrating thing I found was that the plug, even when it was clearly hitting my prostate and causing a slight shudder, I only actually felt pleasure when I was stimulating my penis. A few seconds after stopping stimulation, the sensations in my prosate would grow dull. Is this a common problem? It feels great when I do take an active role, but Ideally I'd love to lie back and without the need for traditional penile stimulation. 🙂
3. The orgasm, when it came, was truly explosive, but, much like the prostate massage, it didn't acutally feel that pleasurable, almost as if I had skipped the orgasm itself and gone straight to the ejaculation. I must admit I was pretty nervous and things didn't last particularly long, plus sensations were a little too alien for me to concentrate or relax enough to really feel aroused.
Once again, has anyone felt anything like this? Is it likely that in time, in a more ideal situation and with a better understanding of what makes me tick that I can expect better results?
Basically, I guess I'd just like to know if I'm on a good starting point for my eventual adoption of the aneros? This session was defiantely an eye opener (I've never seen my equipment twitch quite so much!), I just hope I've got even more to look forward to.
Thanks for any help or advice.
Yes that sounds similar to my experience, when I first heard about the mail orgasm I tried it the first night, shamelessly. I searched around my apartment for an object I could fit up my butt, then I played around until it felt good, especially when I was also whacking off. When I came it felt better than other orgasms, but I knew it probably could have even been better. So I googled "prostate orgasm" or something and after reading several hours of different websites, I found that the aneros was the way to go. I read a lot of material, and the next day I decided to go ahead and buy a helix. That was last week or so. After a few days it arrived (sooner than expected)
Anyway, I've experimented with it and yeah it's better (easier) than just a regular dildo or just your own finger. I haven't even come close to where I know the thing can (and will eventually) take me. I just need to learn how to relax. I have too much going on to be able to relax.
But, its fun using the helix. I recommend getting one. I don't even remember what your original post was, but it sounded very similar to my personal experience, and I was surprised that nobody had replied to you yet.
Yeah
I think this drawing in you describe is related to the involuntary contractions, it's the ones you get with subtle levels of stim which are most rewarding though as vibes give way too much stim for the prostate.
The numbness you describe is normal after over stimulation and can effectively kill your O off before it starts, I have experienced this quite a few times 4 sure.
Cheers, hope my experiences help. Don't forget if you don't immediately get the feelings you're looking for it's because you never asked your body to provide them before!
Thanks for the responses, guys. 🙂
Had a second session a little sooner than I'd originally planned (free house), and I don't know if I didn't wait long enough or something, but it wasn't really a patch on the first. Within minutes of starting the first session, my penis grew far more than usual and was continuously twitching and leaking. This session it barely responded atall, even though the plug went in far more easily than before. The involuntary drawing in of the plug was also missing. I used an awful lot of lubricant this time, so I'm wondering if I dampened the friction between my prostate and the plug to such a degree that it stopped proper contact being made.
One thing I'm really struggling with also is arousal. It's kind of tricky relaxing and enjoying pornography/my own imagination when I've got a rather large rubber object stuck up my bottom. 🙂
I'm increasingly getting the feeling that while I seem to react correctly to the stimulation of the plug, it's definately a pretty brute-force method. It's like I'm using a hammer (the plug) to open a door when I should be using a key (aneros?). While it's a little dissapointing that I don't seem to be ideally suited to my new toy, it's only increased my resolve to purchase a Helix. 🙂
If you ask me, there's no point in waiting around with your plug. That's like testing a Lada to see if you'd enjoy driving a Ferrari. Just buy a Helix. It might seem like a big, dangerous step (as it did to me) but once you've had it for a while, you'll wonder whatever you were worrying about. You'll find it fits so nicely you don't have to worry about it as a foreign object which might pop out or isn't shaped perfectly etc etc. Once you've got rid of those inhibitions you'll open the plain trying something new with your body and, hopefully, some progress. Buy it, and good luck!

Vic,
Buttplugs and the Aneros are frankly, different tools. Plugs can definitely afford some nice feelings of rectal fullness, anal expansion and yes some measure of prostate contact as well. But once inserted plugs are effectively immobile as compared to the Aneros. I should mention that I'm quite capable of having Super O's with plugs too these days. But this is only after having trained my body with the Aneros.
In so far as your concern with respect to the amount of lube that you used,...I don't think that it was factor. Again, mobility is a key element in effective prostate stimulation and adequate lubrication is part of that.
In terms of your feelings about having something large inserted in your rear, the Aneros may help you in that regard as well as it is considerably smaller than your garden variety butt plug. But nonetheless, as Puck has advised, you need to cast off any inhibitions that you might be carrying around about anal/prostate stimulation. This "stuff" will hinder your progress. To succeed in this area we must all give ourselves "permission" to derive pleasure in this way....it is essential!
In terms of fantasizing or viewing erotica, my suggestion (if you're straight) is to find some good female masturbation or girl-girl material; preferably videos that have anal penetration. In general however, anything that YOU find arousing is helpful. I like the girl-anal stuff in that I'm able to engage in like activity with what I'm viewing.

Thanks, B Mayfield - I agree about the inhibitions thing. It's not so much that I have any particular emotional/ethical problems with prostate stimulation, more that the sensation generated by it are currently so alien to me, it's hard to concentrate on anything other than their oddness. 🙂
I'm aware that plugs and the aneros are totally different tools, with plugs designed more to remain stationary and give a sensation of fullness, but I am still quite surprised by my own reaction to it - my body almost immediately responded to the unusal presence of the plug in a way that seems ideally suited to the logistics of aneros use.
By the way, I think I sent you an email a year or two ago asking a few questions, and I'm not sure if I ever thanked you for your advice, it was really helpful. 🙂
I'm kicking myself for not climbing aboard the aneros train sooner, and I hope I haven't annoyed anyone by posting at length about this non-aneros related subject. You've all been really helpful.
I'll be ordering a helix as soon as I get my next paycheque, and will hopefully soon be joining you all as an Aneros exponent. 🙂

Vic,
If you're saying that you've been intrigued by the sensations provided by a plug thus far, there's no question that this gives you a bit of a leg up so to speak,...in that you're not cold to the whole notion of anal/prostate stimulation to begin with. I think you'll be delighted with the sensations that the Aneros provides. Of course this is not to say that you'll insert it and generate a Super O right off the bat (although it does happen in some cases). But rather, that you'll be embarking on this sensual trip equipped with a better vehicle for the journey.
I'm glad to have been of assistance to you in some way....and remember it's never too late to try this....take the plunge!
