Its the glycerin in the water based lube. I use silicone based lube now and this problem dissapeared for me.

@HardDick It is something in the lube, I had the same problem when I first started, I forget the lube I started with, but it was terrible, then I found this:

http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00070KYD6?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o09_s00

Never had the problem again. There are others out there and some people have used Olive Oil and Coconut oil and Shea Butter etc. I never liked any of them, they were messy to me. Just my experience.

I simply apply it with this:

Never had a problem again.

Agree. Most probably it's the lube you are using and how it interacts with your own body and it's intestinal flora. Same case here several times a year.

I like a thick lube in the tighter spots (sphincters & canal) and find that Vaseline will work for several months then I'll get gassy and switch to Crisco (only to return to Vaseline sometime later.)

I'm not sensitive or allergic to dairy and have been helped swallowing an OTC a probiotic (sort of a liquid Yogurt) from the Dairy shelf the local grocery store. This year Yakult seems to be my brand of choice.

I definitely agree w/ everyone here...I also have negative reactions to glycerine based lubes so I avoid them...I use coconut oil plugs and olive oil in place of traditional lubes (ky etc).
