Found out what my roadblock was

Recently I've been making a bit of progress. Some nice, although mostly small, feelings throughout my sessions. May not be much yet, but I think it's a tremendous improvement from little to nothing from my sessions for the first 4-5 months. I've started becoming more sensitive, and I'm pretty sure it's because of eliminating this roadblock.

The roadblock, I believe, was desensitization because of porn.

It's been a little over a month since I quit porn, and I'm finally getting somewhere. I'm getting plenty of new feelings, and can feel quite a few of them even outside of sessions. During sessions though, I can feel more, and I'm starting to enjoy them. 😀

Through personal experience, my only piece of advise has been to have patience. Now, I would also highly suggest quitting porn, even if it's just for a couple of months to see how things go afterwards

Jspad, interesting post, and I think I will join you on the bandwagon for this to see how it works for me too. I have pretty good success with aneros, but I would like to try the abstaining from porn for another reason; masturbation. I have found that I seem to be losing my sensitivity in my penis perhaps from masturbating to porn instead of just using my brain and fantasies . Keep us posted on your progress, as I am interested in knowing how this works for you. Today is day 'two' now for me, so I'm just getting started.. Chuck

I love porn myself. But I have noticed that i get more and a better longer session with it. I have started to stop ejaculating during a session but I wonder what eliminating porn all together will do. I think i may embark on this journey as well.

I don't do porn, due to religious convictions, but have read that masturbating, particularly to increasingly intense pornographic material, can result in orgasmic difficulties and even psychological ED noticed most when attempting to "perform" under "normal" circumstances, like with your wife, so there's gotta be something to what chuckjo2000 is observing. Super O's come the easiest for me with relaxation while tickling my belly and nipples and mentally focusing on the fun feelings, however subtle, building up inside.

I have experienced this syndrome myself, as i was a bit of a porn freak with the advent of the web...Sometimes watch a bit to get me started, but i find porn-free gives me better results,Think i'll have to try cutting it out altogether, probably easier said than done, being a single guy who's taking a break from the drama of women for awhile - erego i have much free time on my hands...and a bit more cash in the pocket, i might add, lol

Thanks for the input everyone, and good luck to those quitting .:) I've actually been at times unable to get aroused even with pictures, so whether I masturbated or not I'd end up sort of frustrated. Since quitting, I've started to get what I think are P-waves, little concentrations of pleasure in certain spots. Originally it was in what I guess is my prostate. Sometimes it's elsewhere, such as the chest area, and sometimes in different "flavors." And I masturbated yesterday, and it was pretty nice. Quitting porn is opening some new doors for me thus far 😀

Hmm. Porn enhances my sessions versus when I've tried going without. I don't watch during sessions, but I have the audio going in headphones and this helps me to focus in and become highly aroused by visualizing the rest. I find that when I try having a session without any additional stimuli, I'm more likely to drift off to sleep than get anywhere in terms of sensations.

Then again I've been at it for a little over two years now, and although my sessions just keep getting better, I haven't had a Super O or even a Dry O yet as far as I can tell. So maybe if I trained myself to have good sessions without outside help I'd progress even further.

I also have quit the porn prior to having a session.I usually read some of the forum and that seems to rev up the engine well enough to get me going.Maybe the porn created the mood to masturbate and not what is needed for a good aneros session, mental arousal.

I would agree that excessive porn can become harmful and an addiction to porn can be debilitating. It actually takes a lot of fun out of my imagination and I tend to not watch it days on end before a session.

Good idea! Porn is not real. It tends to suggest greater experiences than those you yourself have. Erections seem harder. Orgasm more intense. Excitement at an unreal pitch. Etc. I go to porrn from time to time but I don't really enjoy it. I'm going to skip it. Enjoy my own pleasures and bask in the warm glow of my own sexual feelings not the "envy" of fake or imagined "wonders of porn".

Porn can be great! But like all good things, I believe that it's best used in moderation. Just like a few glasses of wine can enhance a night of great sex, a bit too much can actually take away from the experience. Occasionally I enjoy porn before/during a session, but find if my arousal level is too high when beginning, I can be a bit over-zealous during an Aneros session thus lessening my experience. Lately I have found clips of three-hour mediation clips on YouTube sounding equivalent to the ambient music you would hear in a spa during a massage. I find it helps myself to deepen while using Aneros, and prolongs my enjoyment of the session. After the erotic/sexual energy has peaked for me, I like to try to convert that same energy to an energy of healing.

In traditional masturbation, I have found that porn actually hinders my ability to achieve an ejaculatory orgasm since my progression with Aneros

Thanks everyone! 🙂 I think besides no porn, I'm going to try avoiding most penile stimulation save for once a week, see how that goes. The nice feelings were strongest during a time when I attempted (most I went was 8 or 9 days) to go 30 days without masturbation. At least I know that I shouldn't have a problem with waiting a whole week to masturbate.
