I came across this article today. Amazingly a study finds 69% of EVOO purchased in the US is probably fake. Who knew? lol The good news is that some california made EVOO was actually rated as the best. I read or heard something like that awhile ago, but their investigation showed that the imported oils were most likely fake. American or domestic oils, due to the stricter FDA regulations, prevents a great deal of fraud in the EVOO grown and produced here. Apparently, foreign processed EVOO gets around FDA testing/inspection for some reason.
