Flax seed as lube

Some years ago I tried making a lube from boiling flax seed in water. Seemed to work quite well. Does anyone have any comments about using flax seed? Is it safe?

Does anyone have any comments about using flax seed?

There was an extensive thread posted many years ago which addressed flax seed extract as a lubricant (please see Home Made Lube from Organic Flax Seeds and Water for the comments). After trying this lube a few times myself, I returned to using just 'Natural Jelly' because of the 'drying out' factor. While the flax seed lube is wonderful internally, it just dries out too quickly around the anal opening to suit me, requiring repeated application of lube, which I find undesirable during an Anerosession. Additionally, because this product is so perishable, mixing small batches just became bothersome, I find coconut oil suppositories work easiest for me.

Note: I would not recommend you try to make large batches of this product as its shelf life at room temperature is only a few days. After that period of time it begins to breakdown into a very watery liquid and looses its cohesive slipperiness. This should not be a problem as it is so easy to make. Boil water, add seeds, simmer 5-7 minutes, strain, allow to cool, use, can be a bit messy though.

Is it safe?

As far as I know it is totally safe to use, after all, it is an edible product.

Good Vibes to You!

It wouldn’t be unsafe. Flaxseed is good for our health and diet. I just dip my my toys in Vaseline and top off with ky and it seems to do the trick. Even after washing it’s still a bit sloppy from the Vaseline, but that doesn’t bother me.

It's hard to beat Natural Jelly for Aneros lube.

In warmer seasons, I add 2-3 times more bees wax and shea butter.

This keeps the 'jelly' more of a paste/solid at room temp, not soo liquid. But still liquifies when finger tip (or two) of the paste is pushed in as a suppository, and the now melted rest is spread on the device.

Cooler temps I adjust the wax/butter to coconut oil  ratio to suit.

Wife now also prefers Rumel's Natural Jelly for 'other' lube needs.

Cheers
