Commonly in my Aneros sessions, I experience a phase when my body seems to go into out-of-control spasming, twisting around, clutching at things, even humping the bed. This is interesting and enjoyable in its own way, but there is no radiant pleasure that accompanies it; it's kind of its own thing. In fact, my body seems to forget about doing anal contractions while this is happening. I'm quite sure it's not a Super-O because I've experienced a different sensation during one session when, as others described, the Aneros was drawn deeply into me slowly, powerfully, and repeatedly without any effort on my part; it felt like it "took control," and there was a definite sexual pleasure. I've tried channeling the full-body contractions into activity in my sexual center, but it doesn't seem to do much.

Do others experience this? Are the two states I'm describing really just two parts of a real Super-O?

Your experience is very similar with one recent experience of mine. I was quivering like on electric chair, but without overwhelming sensations.
You can read my post here (look for the most recent) http://www.aneros.com/forum/f5/my-first-little-success-10728/

During my last few sessions I have experienced the same thing. Like you say there is no radiant pleasure associated with the convulsing, I consider it a part of the orgasm. I have only had this happen to me on a few occasions and they have been what I would cosider my best sessions.
I know just what you mean when you say the aneros gets "drawn in deep" and takes control.
I would just do some deep breathing exercices when that happens and consider it progress
