Hi guys,

I'm looking for a reasonably priced enema kit for the pre-Aneros prep. Do you all have any to recommend?

By enema kit I mean anything that gets the job done. It doesn't have to be a full fledged colon cleanse thing.

Thanks!

You can check out the Higginson Syringe in the products section of this site http://www.aneros.com/detail.php?id=16 or if you desire a more compact bulb syringe type check out http://www.highisland.com/detail.php?categoryid=1&productid=8 .

Cheap and simple counts big. I only use 2 or 3 ounces on each of two shots. Following assumes you are in the USA...

Obvious, most durable solution, is the 8oz. Faultless Rectal Syringe ($ 8 to 10 at pharmacy). Advantage -- rugged, fairly compact, few parts / no lengths of hose to sanitize. Issues are that the nozzle tends to 'unscrew' from the black bulb-adapter and it leaks unless you remember cinch it up between shots. Other issue is that when you pause injecting there's some 'back flow' which complicates cleanup after your session. (a waste of peroxide -- using Clorox complicates cleanup since you don't want residual Chlorine up your ass.) If you opt for the Faultless, consider adding a short length of hose, a shut-off clamp and a conventional rectal nozzle or short rectal tube. (At this point in my prep, I prefer to penetrate with something more flexible rather than a hard adult rectal nozzle -- jm2cw).

Good starting gear: Refer to the Wiki. Buy a "two-pack" of Fleet Enemas (not oil based), about $ 5-7). Dump the contents, rinse out and you've got two small enema bulbs with nozzles that are somewhat flexible. Advantage: These are compact and pack easily for travel. Some guys say remove the 'check valve' inside the top. I say leave it in -- it reduces backflow after you make a small squirt.

To douche, fill both, take a few ounces from one, expel, then use the other. Rinse them out and run a squirt of peroxide through the check valve then rinse again -- not totally sterile but pretty clean and any remaining peroxide will decay to plain water. ... these will get you started. After a dozen sessions, you'll have some preferences of your own. Maybe that will be to just buy another Fleet, two-pack ... simple !

And of course there's the Higginson: $ 20 in the Aneros store (probably the best place to buy it as some of the knock-offs have had cheap metal valves that quickly corrode and fail.) Using a Higginson is either a very convenient affair or complex and that depends on how your "lavatory" or toilet is arranged. I think it's best used with a bag and hose; however, that gets you back into "heavy hardware."

There you got it. Anyone else have a simple solution ??? ... rook

I have the higginson syringe and have to say I don't really like it.
Althogh it is easy to use, it is very slow to fill up, and using it for me is quite a process. If I don't want to spend the time, I will just skip it
I may try the other model sold by HIH

go to the baby department of a drugstore, and buy an ear syringe. easy to fill, just the right size, maybe 4 or 5 ounces, easy to clean, and cheap if you want to dispose of it after a few uses.
