Or is that caused by something that doesn't take place if you aren't touching your penis?
For most people, no.
Ejaculation is a reflex that happens shortly after orgasm. I think of it like during an orgasm, there is a lot of energy moving up from your perineum -> prostate -> up to stomach -> sometimes up further along body or legs sometimes. The ejaculatio reflex gets triggered if that energy starts to move up your cock. If you aren't stroking your cock, it's almost impossible for that energy to be felt in your cock so doesn't trigger the reflex. At least that's what I think about it.
I just ask because I'm on an Antidepressant, An SSRI, and those severely dampen the ejaculatory inevitability sensation (it generally never shows up). I get around this in my normal sex life by either skipping my medicine for a day or two prior to sex, or by using ahem, a certain substance that's legal lots of places, but not all. I would like to avoid those measures for my Aneros sessions if possible, but I've found my sessions don't get much traction if I do. I am however, thinking that it's all in my head. What's the wisdom here say ? Thanks in advance.:)
I have a much easier time getting my sessions going with the "certain substance." it makes a huge difference. I too would rather avoid it, and am working on that slowly but surely.

nope. If I've ridden the session through a particularly intense dry-O or a chain of dry-Os I will usually 'go wet' from post session nipple play. It's not a pulsating ejaculation though, it's just a stream of cum. Perhaps that's an age related situation.
