Well as the title says I am disappointed with Aneros shop.comThey recently had there 20% off sale and I went to purchase two items and got to the checkout only to be slapped with a freight fee that over threw the savings of the sale. It was going to cost $30 to ship to Australia no matter if I only even purchased 1 item.
My last item Eupho was $12 to get here form AnerosShop.com.
Now I do remember thinking that was cheap freight at the time but then it should be with all the freight that would come out of Aneros because of the amount.
I wrote a complaint email to Aneros and received a response (after the sale)!
We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience of having to pay extra for shipping. Until recently, our website would advertise low prices on international shipping, when in fact, the true cost of shipping was much more. So were were losing out on a lot of money on our international orders. We decided to simplify the program and just charge a flat rate of $29.95 for shipping, which has had mixed results. We know how annoying it is to have to pay extra for shipping, but we are trying to make sure our customers all over the world are able to have access to Aneros.
We thank you for your understanding,
-Aneros Support
Now I hear what they are saying but......
Here is my view.
Aneros is the producer of these wonderful pieces of plastic. Yes Plastic.
What reason would one have to buy from Aneros shop.com rather that another retailer. Granted aneros would sell at wholesale to that retailer and make a profit anyway.
The only reason now is that you get a money back guarantee for 90 days.
The reason I used to buy from them was 1 that it was about the same price including freight to buy from them even if it took a little longer to get here and 2 there was a money back guarantee even though I doubt I would ever use it.
They mention in the response that they were loosing money on international orders!
I find this a hard pill to swallow.
Aeneros is the producer of these devices made of plastic.
Plastic stuff does not cost much to produce in volume.
I bet it is in the order of $2 a piece but lets say $10 including packaging.
Aneros is making a killing on each device at around $50 a piece already.
Now sure there are other costs over all and I dont begrudge them making a lot of money out of their patented idea "which does work" BUT..
I think it a very narrow minded view that they are losing money on international orders.
I am sure they were still making a profit over all on each sale with international sales if they actually worked from costs not there own wholesale price.
They obviously dont want international sales!
Why would I buy a peridise set for $100 including freight from Anerosshop.com when I can buy from a retailer here for $75.05 including a free tube of marksman lube. EVEN with 20% off its still $86 from Aneros. too expensive.
Now add to that that you can get much cheaper deals on Amazon even too.
$50 for aneros, less cost to make $10 = $40 profit + $12 freight to Australia = greater than $28 profit (brought direct from the producer) happy customers. because freight is not fully covered.
$50 for aneros less cost to make $10 = $40 profit + $30 freight to Australia = $40 profit In theory but in reality $0 dollars profit because the sale will never happen.
How long will it take for someone at Aneros shop.com to get their ass kicked for loss of profits I ask you?
I guess Aneros only wants to deal with retailers in other countries rather than direct to customers.
Before Anerosshop.com changed their freight policy they were competitive and with a sale better than a retailer.
retailer inc freight $58.
aneros$50 + $12 freight =$62
Aneros was more expensive by 4 dollars but with a sale they were cheaper
Now they will not be competitive ever!
Just one international customers veiw :-q
Did you make your recent purchase before or after the Aussie dollar began its current tumble?
@pommie I dont see how that is really relevant. As all Aneros shop prices are US and the $12 was US.Even now the Aust dollar is close to the same as US.
I ordered a Progasm Jnr in the 20% sale. I was charged $29.95 express to Australia. I expected this and felt it all worked out okay. I noticed in Australia Post shop to send a parcel express to the US was $33.
I wait for sales so it defrays some of the freight. I got my previous order in 7 days. And no added GST or duty. Now the Oz dollars is down I may not take advantage of the sale.
Our local supplier is very reasonable but does not stock all items
@isvara well air mail is $14 and registered post to USA is $20 which is normal post but we now dont get that option.
What shipping carrier does aneros use? Cause that can make a big difference. Here in the usa i have some experience in shipping things from dabbling in ebay sales for a while. The us postal service(usps) has a great program where its flat rate shipping anywhere in the us if it will fit in the box, different boxes cost different amounts, but they were way cheaper then UPS, sometimes half the cost. But here is the kicker, usps packages were never guranteed or tracked like UPS packages. I'm sure everyone has heard stories of packages getting lost with no explanation or compensation from usps. I do have experience in this also, shipped a very expensive milwaukee tool set valued at over $500, a month went by before they admitted my box was found empty in a usps warehouse, seems someone who worked there felt the need to help themselves to my tool. I guess it was my mistake for shipping it in the manufactureres box which displayed what was inside. So my point is I guess, you get what you pay for in shipping, just like everything else. I will never use usps again, too slow, no tracking (unless you pay more) and generally slower. UPS costs more, but tracks all packages, gurantees the paid for shipping time whether ground, 2 day, next day and usually has free insurance up to $100 on the package.
Hi @braveneworld,
I am sorry that you have suffered sticker shock from Aneros.com because of international shipment charges. I understand.
I have a good buddy in Scotland who wants to purchase an extra Progasm Black Ice from me. I found out yesterday that to ship a 2 lb. package to Scotland (containing a Progasm) first-class would cost me about $24 via the U.S. Postal Service (USPS). To send the same package to Scotland priority mail via the USPS would be double or even more than the price which I quoted.

Hmmmmmmmm! starting to see a trend here guys. It would seem the US freight system has got real expensive. Are you guys finally paying through the nose for gasoline & diesel like everyone else? We are paying $1.50 & $1.80.
Maybe aneros was loosing money because the postal workers have been stealing all the aneroses and are all riding while they are working.... :D/
It is interesting that if I get quotes through amozon thought that freight is real cheap. like $7.50 to Australia from US they must have their own system or somthing.
I know I may have come across as a winger but the reply from Aneros did say MIXED reaction so I wanted to see for myself. Thanks for you replys.
My ass will just have to wait some more which is ok coz it aint going anywhere.
@ineverknew sorry to hear about your tool set. Easy error to make but one you will never make again.
@BigBlansDC I have been sprooking your extra stock to anyone that is looking, have you off loaded them yet?
I guess that ebay link I sent you did not turn out for the black classic as I have not seen you drooling on the forum. Oh well was not ment to be.
I am sure Amazon has a bulk shipment to Australia then relabels the items locally and sends them local rates.
My last package from Amazon had an Australia post label over a US one.
Smaller companies would not have the this advantage. Well that may be the difference.I am sure Amazon has a bulk shipment to Australia then relabels the items lacally and sends them local rates.

@braveneworld, gas here in michigan just jumped up. Has been $3.65/gallon for the longest time. Today its $4.15/gallon! Crazy shit, puts a real burden on me since my business is mobile and my truck gets 13 mpg, so im feeling the hurt big time! I think you mentioned or took from your messages you live in the UK? No idea how that relates, but you guys seem to be getting the shit end of the stick for a while over there! LMAO
I know this is somewhat off topic but I have to say that compared with Australia, fuel still seems to be cheap in the US. Here, "petrol", (gas to you) is about $A1.30/ litre ($A5.91/gallon), that's $US5.64 at todays exchange rate.I drive a diesel so for me, fuel costs $A1.40/litre, ($A6.36/gal) or $US6.08/gal!
Out in the bush you could expect to pay a fair bit more to cover cartage!
@Pommie gee you are getting a good price, in South Australia it is $1.45 a litre on a good day for petrol.@ineverknew no not the UK, I live in Australia The price you pay for fuel we have been paying more for more than 15 years maybe 20 even.
While in the outback (desert) I did pay $8.52/ a gallon a number of times while camping.
Our postage is not that expensive but our freight seemed to be but it looks like the US freight system is way more expensive than Australia.
Maybe its because of terrorism checks or something like that.
@braveneworld, ok, yeah sorry, so many people, cant keep them all straight. Bummer on the gas situation, though you guys are on an island, so if your not getting it yourself you probably have to have it shipped in. Here in america we have a surplus of oil, though not sure why prices keep going up. I've heard its cause the government will not allow any more new refineries which are running at full capacity, but who knows. Its funny, i was reading so many people are buying hybrids and electric cars the state governments are losing fuel tax money, so now they are gonna screw those people when they register their vehicle every year with a new tax! They will get you some how some way, for sure!
@pommie, it is cheaper, but it can be even cheaper if the government would get out of the way!
nevertheless, it's still a long haul... about 9K statute miles. over four times the distance across the United States. Jet-A costs money !
