This is a old discussion but I'm hoping it will bring it up in the feeds.

My story:

I hardly use my Aneros in the year I've owned it. Only when I get feeling alittle creative once every 2 months we'll say. I've always been shy with it and never really got far except putting it in all the way and jerking myself to a slightly better orgasm.

3 days ago I was at work and strained a muscle near my groin, didn't know I did of course until the next day. But before that next day I had my second session in 2 days, I was on a roll and seemed to be getting somewhere for the first time. I found squatting on my bed the first night with the aneros P-tab end rubbing into the bed covers very stimulating.

The next day is when I pulled the muscle and that night I had to have another round. I got alittle more confident and assumed the same position but this time I pushed the P-Tab that rests behind the balls into the skin as I was jerking with the full insertion.

The pleasure was 2x the night before. No pain from it, just felt great. Went to bed and the next day my muscle in my leg near the groin was aching at work which is right outside the taint area in my right ass cheek. But as the day went on I started to zone in on the pain and noticed I had a slight discomfort going on in my taint/asshole area. It wasn't pain, just kinda felt like a had a bad bowl movement, as if it was mildly spasmed inside my tract.

So I grew more paranoid and researched on google and it was all doom and gloom about the use of Aneros being lethal, and causing cancer. So now my enjoyable hobby has me scared to death that I may have damaged myself beyond repair or it will never be the same again.

3 Days have passed and tonight it seems to be a "hint" better. The discomfort is slowing down but I still feel like I need answers. Anyone shed some facts on how much damage can be caused or whether I need to go to outpatients?

NOTE: I have been peeing/pooping/ejaculating by hand normally. No blood or anything off.

Kinda seems like when I jack off I get aroused quicker though, and I do kinda feel like I need to poop more without having to go (I think)

Thanks for the help.

Wilder179,

I am not surprised you experienced some residual discomfort to your perineum. First, due to the infrequency of your Aneros usage, your perineum has not become inured to the additional pressure the P-tab can impart. More frequent use will tone up the muscles and also perhaps callous toughen the perineum skin. Second, the Aneros devices are not designed or meant to be manipulated by sitting on them or moving them by hand. Any external manipulative force is NOT recommended by the manufacturer as this can put undo pressure on the delicate internal organs and membranes and contribute to injuries. Third, adequate lubrication is essential to minimize potential abrasion irritation.
So I grew more paranoid and researched on google and it was all doom and gloom about the use of Aneros being lethal, and causing cancer. Can you PLEASE provide a link to where you read this negative information. I have been reading about prostate massage and techniques for many years and have never read any claims that Aneros use could in any way be considered lethal or carcinogenic. I would like to exam the source of this accusation and the veracity/expertise of the author. We have several forum members in health related fields and none of them have ever commented on potential lethality or carcinogenic properties associated with Aneros use. The Aneros devices were invented to provide health benefits not health deficits.

Good Vibes to You!

Thank you ever so kindly for providing me with some light in the dark. Today is Day 4 of my soreness around the anus and perineum. Its let up a bit since the first day, I think it may be healing finally. I'm a paranoid person as is, so the feeling of having to go to the bathroom more and not having to (pooping) may just be my nerves. This sorta thing never leaves my mind and I torture myself to death 😛

So I guess my ultimate question is, from applying extra pressure where the P-Tab lays, while inserted and causing this discomfort....Do you think I will heal up and not have any long term effects?

Most men would problay just dismiss the discomfort but I'm on the ball about anything thats a miss. Its not pain, its discomfort like a strained muscle.

The scary info I found is right here on our very site.

Thank you again and I appreciate your further help 🙂

When/if I do continue Aneros it won't ever been with any kind of pressure at all once its inserted. And I haven't used it since I got sore.

@wilder179 I'm certainly not a jock but I do know that if I haven't used or even stretched a muscle for a while let alone muscles I didn't even know I had, it would be expected that it would be sore. That said, it seems to me that one of the usual criteria for good exercise especially when first starting is that you get sore about 24 hours later. If you're sore right away, that's overdoing it, but next day? That's fine. But you do have to let the muscle strain run its course while trying to keep the new flexibility. It seems to me that's what's happened to you and nothing ominous! I shall go out on a strong limb here (take off my health professional cap) and say that it'll be fine. Overdoing things, no matter what they are, is something that our bodies mostly forgive us, some less than others, and less as we age ( the voice of experience and age is speaking here ;)). I'm sure you'll be fine and it's encouraging that you were able to get some good results. Don't abandon the journey, wilder179! cheers!

Thanks Armon! I'm 27 years old so hopefully my youth will have be back to normal in no time. But your right, it had been 3 months since I used the Aneros. I was out of practice and went at it like I used to. The closest comparison would be a muscle spasm/strainish feeling.

JustAnswers - Urologist Doctor Answer.
Between you guys and him I think I'll ride this out and see if it get better in a couple more days.

Hello! Thanks for allowing me to help you today. Please feel free to ask any follow up questions and positive feedback is much appreciated.

I would be wary of information on the Internet. There is no scientific evidence that sexual toys can cause cancer.
You can cause stretching and tears in the rectum, but they usually are associated with significant pain and issues with bowel movement such as bleeding.

You have not had those so I would not worry. I would stop the use of aneros at this time. Keep rest until the groin muscle has completely healed.

Yes, you will heal up just fine and NO there will probably be NO long term negative effects.

"The scary info I found is right here on our very site. https://community.aneros.com/forum/discussion/12984/how-dangerous-is-a-prostate-massage/p 1"

I would suggest you go back and thoroughly re-read all the content of that thread. I fear you are inferring far more danger from Aneros use than you should. The dangers from overly vigorous prostate massage are present but if you use your Aneros, as per manufacturers instructions, the probability of incurring any negative outcomes is minimal. As far as I know there have been NO REPORTS attributing death or cancer to Aneros usage.

Good Vibes to You!

Ok I have a update. Tonight after work I took a hot bath. I thought things were beginning to heal up slowly so I decided to trace from my anus with my finger up to the back of my scrotum lightly. I located the area of soreness. Its about from above the Anus opening halfway up to the scrotum. I can feel the nerves dancing under my touch like a tender muscle would. I remember the night I did it, I wasn't quite aroused and slipped in in quick with alot of lube. Knowing these symptoms what do you think now? Yes, all functions work correctly. Just uncomfortable sitting for long periods of time but it does seem like its getting slightly better.

And it could just be me, but it does seem like I have a urge to poop more but not actually go. Could be me being nerved up about this lol doesn't bother me when I'm not thinking about it as much.

@Wilder179 This is, again, NOT medical advice. It's gonna be fine. The spot you described is possibly what is called the P-spot and there are lots of nerves right under the skin. It will settle down. and I am sure that when you resume a more regular use (and not overly long--like more than an hour's time) of your device, in a week or so, things will be just feeling fine.

At 27 years old and otherwise healthy, I can think of nothing you've done to injure yourself. Take a few days off and let yourself begin to feel better. There's about nothing internally at that particular site that you can injure with Aneros use. That's just part of your pelvic muscle "floor" medically speaking and muscles there can get strained and hurt when they do. It will pass.

@Wilder179' I have rescanned your posts and I can't see what model Aneros you are/were using. I am guessing it was one with a firm Ptab. If so for a while I suggests padding the Ptab with something soft, like some layer of tissues/ cloth or the rubber end of an eye dropper.. This is to spread and even out the pressure from the quite sharp Ptab.
I would not 'sit' on the Aneros as I think you did as that puts an external pressure on the Ptab which is not what Aneros intended.

UPDATE: After 5 days passed, the soreness went away. I thought I was in the clear but the past two days I've noticed something different. NOTE: I've been working long hours and getting next to no sleep each night so I'm abit paranoid.

After the soreness left, my penis/balls started to feel "off" is the only way I can describe it. As if I have super blue balls, and it usually feels like there is a discharge once in awhile but when I go to check there is nothing there. I've been super horny lately at work, popping boners like its going out of style where I have no time for a lover, or Aneros since what happened before.
The feeling only hits when I'm moving around, I'll feel it for a moment where they seem tight or a light burn deep within perhaps. Its very hard to explain. But it only lasts a moment.

Am I going crazy?

1st: Get some quality sleep, 8 uninterrupted hours without any drugs of any kinds.2nd: Have an ice cold shower.
3rd: Warm up and assess your body.

It can either be nothing, like in most case; or something bad, after these 3 step you might very well have a good idea of what.
If it looks to be something bad, in most case it won't be, we human are like pest and can endure and adapt to so many things… Even tough this adaptation capability is hindered by our recent lifestyle...

As you said yourself, you might very well be quite paranoid, lack of sleep and mental stress are well known cause for that (not sleeping, long work hours...), analyse and fix that.
I don't know you, nor your lifestyle nor do I wish to be judgmental or anything therefore I won't preach anything and hope I won't be misunderstood nor over-understood.

It sounds like you need to stroke one off; you're getting too much seminal fluids built up without release. I'm no doctor, but I've had some experience. Ask one of the doctors on this forum for a more reliable opinion.

I've been putting in a nightly stroke, you might be right lol. But by the end of the next day I'm right back there again. Maybe I rewired myself from that last crazy Aneros session, even the muscles that were sore seem to be stronger when I stop my pee. Since they healed up. I'm working a 4am-8pm 6 days a weel schedule thats all physical work for the past month and a half. Anything that is slightly wrong, feels like a mountain instead of a hill. Could be stress...and deprived of release...I don't know

At 27, assuming you're not married with a regular sex life like us older married guys should be having, you need to masturbate at least twice a week to avoid the prostate and testicular reflux/pressure (the so-called blue balls) that comes from too much fluid being pent up inside. In between those times, you can practice with your Aneros with "penis-NOT" sessions, that is you don't touch or even think about traditional penile oriented sexual stimulation.

If you're sore or feel things aren't right inside just yet, just keep up a regular masturbation schedule like this for a couple weeks without using the Aneros, then start working your Aneros sessions in on an in-between basis. Trust me, there's nothing medical that should be wrong with you at this point.

Do you think I could have caused this from Aneros? What I did that night?
