Man. I'm having this issue where an aneros session is more depressing than progressing naturally and nice
I had a relationship break up a few months ago and while I'm mostly over it, somehow it comes flooding back during sessions. Like any pleasure or significantly varied sensation has been followed by a sad feeling.
Thus my sessions are being avoided and generally not horny at all because horniness = depressed.
The issue probably sounds obvious to you but has anyone else experienced this?

theres a lot going on in your head right now. Are you feeling bad about feeling good? I mean, when you are starting to get orgasms or pleasant sensations, are you telling yourself you don’t deserve it or are you ‘just going to feel worse later’ or something else that sabotages your pleasure?
the aneros is t causing you to feel bad. I’ve found if I’m depressed or anxious about something and I’m unable to get those thoughts out of my mind, I may as well not have the session because I won’t get pleasure from a negative headspace.
Your breakup obviously has hurt you. Your pain is bleeding into these otherwise blissful areas of your life.
Im sure many guys have great ideas for you. I just want to say you are worthy of pleasure, you are loved and to hold onto that knowledge when you have a session. You deserve to feel good!

Unfortunately, YES I have experienced this a couple of times in my life. Getting your heart broken from a failed relationship is always a traumatic wound. The good news here is that hopefully you will have learned something positive from this relationship. Depression is a self inflicted injury which will heal with time but you can accelerate the healing process with positive affirmations.
I don't remember exactly where I extracted these from but I offer them to you in the interest of self healing. If you apply them now and daily I believe you will see noticeable improvement rapidly, I know they have helped me.
1.) “I am worthy.” Worthy of love. Worthy of peace. Worthy of praise. Worthy of happiness. Worthy of pleasure. Say this to yourself out loud at the start of every day and before you go to bed every evening and as often as you can remember during the day.
2.) “My thoughts create my reality.” Be aware of the thoughts that drift to & fro in your mind; they are direct reflectors of not only your inner world but your outer world. Believe in & aspire to positivity. If you believe that you are abundant, you will create abundance. If you believe you are blessed, you will create imminent blessings.
3.) “Be kind.” Smile sweetly. Compliment a stranger. Ask someone how they are & really care about their well being. Exude friendliness & warmth, because everyone you meet is fighting a hard battle themselves. Radiate compassionate consideration. Give help when you can.
4.) “The opinions of others don’t really matter.” Filter the words you hear throughout the day. Only internalize the ones that resonate with your natural rhythms. And when you do listen to the wisdom of others, take it with a grain or two of salt. Cherish your ability to make sound choices; rely on it. Listen to your heart; it’ll never steer you wrong.
5.) “I am stunning.” Repeat five times more for good measure. Hammer this into your brain. Never forget it.
6.) “Life is beautiful.” Through the trials & tribulations, through the intricate complexities & complications… life & your existence within it is beautiful. Dwell on that.
7.) “Breathe.” Be conscious of every breath you take. Relish in the sensation of your lungs filling up with air; inflate them to their fullest capacity. And when you exhale, smile.
8.) “Be in this moment.” Stay mindful, stay present, stay centered. And when you feel yourself drifting out of inner consciousness, remind yourself that the past & future are elaborate illusions; that the only time is now.
