just wondering if my helix is still safe to use as my dog recently managed to find it and use it a a chew toy

the gashes are no deeper than 1mm and I've taken off any burrs could find with a sharp knife followed with a good washing

I believe your Helix will be perfectly safe to use if you sterilize it in boiling water for approximately 5 minutes. See the post from Aneros support 03 April 2003 - http://aneros.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=12 , but do make sure you have removed any potential sharp edges for certain to avoid creating small internal lacerations during future use.
