Cut off Helix handle?

Hi-

I have a Helix and a Eupho. I cut the handle off the Eupho so I could use it laying in bed. It does not seem to affect the performance. Is it OK to cut the handle off the Helix? Does it work the same without the handle?

Hello The_Bishop, 🙂

Yes it is ok to cut off the handle on the Helix. I've done so on mine, and over time don't seem to mind the modification. Plus it likely allows it to pivot in closer to the prostate. But as you may have already experienced, the tail/handle keeps the Aneros from twisting to the side during use. So if you have even the slightest rectal contraction, it immediately twists off to the side, which I find obnoxious and interrupts the session somewhat. That's the biggest downside to removing the tail/handle in my mind.

Keep in mind that a folded up shower towel on the bed with your butt close to the edge of it will allow you to use an intact Aneros in bed on your back with no problems. If you really feel you need the greater pivoting action, perhaps you might want to try bending back the tail/handle some before you decide to remove it permanently. That way you would still have it holding it from twisting.

I, too, cut off the handles on my MGX and Helix. For me, they seem to work better without the handle. Without the handle, you can also lie flat on your back. It's harder to do with the handle there.

I cut off the loop of my Helix's handle so I could sit or lay on my back, and it has not noticibly altered the performance. Ironically, I found laying on my stomach to be the most effective position, thus rendering the modification unnecessary. Now for the real challenge: finding a way to comfortably lie on my stomach...

La Petite Mort.. Great and important observation.

For several of us the Helix and Eupho work differently. Helix has best prostate contact when on our stomach. Eupho other way around -- best prostate contact when on back. On back, Helix is slightly better for vibes along the posterior anal canal

--so, cutting tail off Helix won't do exactly what it did for the Eupho.

I cut the handle off my Helix, which provided significantly greater prostate contact, which in turn gives me a better orgasm. I recommend doing it, but YMMV. Be sure to sand down the nub wherever you cut it off. Mine is cut off completely.

Forgive me my "denseness", but I'm assuming that you're referring to the "rear" handle only and not the part touching the taint. Still "feeling" my way through this new world of discovery.

You are correct. Cutting off the P-tab would destroy the unit's pivoting action.
