cleaning vaseline

Hello, i used vaseline as a base and usually end up getting it everywhere and having a hard time getting it off of knobs and such. does anyone have a good way to clean the aneros and other vaseline tainted items?

A hot towel usually does the trick.

On the Aneros, I leave it under running hot water for several minutes, and then thoroughly in my hands with liquid soap, then rinse thoroughly.
