in my profile, i state my email address. i want forum members to be able to find it, and mail me, if they want.

in the old forum (much missed), the profile (optionally) displayed the email.

i can't see how to do it now, and, that old preference seems to be gone.

it is sad how the change to this new forum kind of snuffed the world's enthusiasm for the aneros forum.

darwin,
I don't see any settings in one's personal PROFILE, ACCOUNT, PRIVACY or NOTIFICATIONS which would allow you to make your email address visible. If you have an AIM, Google Talk, Skype, Yahoo! Messenger or ICQ account you can enter that address in the User Settings>PROFILE>Contact Information edit box. However, if you don't have one of those above accounts, you could make your email available by entering it in the User Settings>PROFILE>Biography edit box. In either case the information becomes viewable when someone clicks on the ABOUT tab of your User Profile. Good Vibes to You !

Next best thing is to turn email notification on for private messages.

BTW, posting your email address on the open Internet is an invitation to hackers and spammers. Not a good idea.
