So i am not the only one with this problem. Are you saying that there is now way around it? You have to choose one or the other? [Smoothness with risk of embarrassment] or [stubble/hair with no worries].

Would wearing a thong help? The narrow band of cloth covering the anus and going up the butt crack might give some buffering between the cheeks so it doesn't raspberry so easily. Just a thought.

I have no idea. I'm straight so i am not really sure i could get myself to wear a thong...It does seem like it could work, but i don't know if i want to go that far.

@justinkreg,I don't think you have to be gay to wear a thong.
I can understand that obtaining one might be a problem. Try buying one online.

Ditto. I am married with three kids, and have worn them from time from to time, with absolutely no gay inclinations. In fact, I've found that in certain circumstances, thongs are more comfortable; when doing sweaty routines, like running or such, where sweat runs down between the cheeks, causes severe chaffing that can be alleviated by cramming underwear between my cheeks, or wearing a thong to wick the sweat away.

Wow i didn't know straight guys wear thongs. I am looking a some sites online, does the width of the thong matter? I am assuming the g string is too thin to do anything and the bikini is too wide, so something in between those two? Also you guys that wear thongs, do you ever have to worry about them showing through clothing? Is there certain ones that are more concealable if that is the case? I don't think that a thong will show; at the worst, it will look like you are going commando, because your pants/jeans will ride up your buttcrack, because there is no underwear panel across your cheeks keeping it out.

To alleviate this problem you need to buy a large butt plug. Drill as large a hole as possible in it and fill it with some muffler packing, that you can buy at a motorcycle shop. If you really care about those around you, you can add a layer of activated charcoal to cut down on the smell. Jk

I am straight and wear thongs / gstrings I have done in public when going clubbing and while at the gym too.
At the gym I would wear a thong and the spandex tights of the short variety over them.
You could clearly see the thong lines.
I would undress in the change rooms in front of other straight guys too.
I never had anyone say anything to me. It depends where you live some places a jockstrap is considered gay but in America it normal. When your young you dont want to be different in anyway but if your smart you realise soon in life that the underwear you wear does not make you gay and even being straight and having gay friends does not matter at all. You may even find they maybe the best friends you will ever have.

Thick band would be best for your situation but if you want to feel cool in shorts on a hot day a tiny string type is best.
P.S. if the gstring or thong is too small and tight it will get painful through the day so correct sizing is best. Also make sure your clean after number 2 🙂 Not only gets yucky but starts to burn your Universal Aneros Port after a while. They dont call them bumfloss for nothing 😉

I am 40 now a only wear them on occasions now because of hemroids but I have been wearing them ever since i was 16.
In my life i have known maybe 50% of my straight friends to wear a thong at least once during my friendships. It could be more but its not something you sort of ask now is it! 🙂

@justinkreg Back to your original question, I've done that and had the same result. And no, shaving doesn't change your voluntary control at the anal sphincter, but it does remove that little patch of hair most guys have there which otherwise would provide a non-sealed up escape route through the peri-anal area for your expelled gas to make it out to the external atmosphere.

Also I learned right away for those of us that live in hot humid environments that the good Lord constructed us men with that little patch of hair in just the right spot so's the inner butt cheeks and peri-anal skin wouldn't rub directly against each other and get really irritated and macerated. So, okay, I do believe in God's intelligent design.

I have found a few that i think might be a good fit, but i want your guy's input before i order. I was also looking across "C strings" which seem to be ultra discreet, but i am not sure they would function as well as a thong in muffling farts? Anyone have any experience with C strings?
