I dropped the vibrator for my brand new Vice on the floor and it no longer turns on. I sent a message through the site's "Contact Us" section asking about the possibility of getting a replacement last week but haven't received any response. Does anyone know if this is eligible for replacement, or am I just stuck with it?
Hello, Peter.
I don't have any idea what Aneros Service will do about it. They have been more than fair with me on all occasions.
As for the vibe, I suggest you go to Amazon.com and pick up a Doc Johnson 7-function Wonder. They cost about $10, fits the Vice and feel great.
Cheers,
Dave
If you cannot return it it is worth looking at see if you can repair it.
The top half unscrews from the bottom half. On the original model I have heard that there is a contact tag that touches the casing to complete the circuit. This has sometimes come away from the casing. It may be that when dropped the jarring has done just this. I have not dismantled my Vice Muse. The new innards may be quite different, but i would think pretty indestructible. Any dismantling must be at your own risk and would void any warranty.
Update:
After not receiving a response from Aneros I wrote to the local shop where I purchased the Vice to see what they thought. They called Aneros on my behalf and were told that there were problems with the "Contact Us" section of the website so that my message most likely was never received, and suggested I contact them with a direct email, which I did. I explained to them, for the sake of full disclosure, that I had dropped the bullet and found (after my initial post here) that a tiny electronic switch/relay-type component had been jarred loose and fell out. Hey, honesty's the best policy, right?
Anyway, I was thrilled to have received a response the very next morning that read simply, "Please send the non working bullet back to us for a warranty replacement."
It says a lot about a company to stand by their product and resolve customer service issues like this quickly and without hassle when an argument could be made that I was at fault for dropping it. Kudos also to the local shop for proactively making the call for me and assuring me that in the unlikely event Aneros were to "drop the ball", they would do their best to take care of it for me.
