It is recommended on the net to boil silicone devices to clean them, and taking their advice I dropped my vice into boiling water for about 30 seconds. It seems the vibrator cavity got larger and the vibrator is now a bit loose. Any advice on how one shrinks silicone. I think Aneros should have a warning about boiling the vice, I may have ruined it!
That's quite odd that that happened. I'd contact Aneros support directly and talk to them about this. They are very helpful and good people. They want you to be happy with your product.

On the topic of sterilization...
It should be noted that boiling in water needs to be done for fifteen minutes to do it's job. But that it is considered not effective sterilization because it is ineffective against prions and many bacterial and fungal spores. So is really a last resort method if no other better methods are available.
What you'd be better off using is a 1/10 (or more) plain bleach (none of the fragrances added types) to water solution and let it sit for twenty minutes. Rinse off the toy, then wash with soap and water. I've previously verified with Aneros support that their plastic prostate massager's will survive a 1/10 solution. Technically 100% silicone should to, but I did not ask them. If you are going to use this method with your Vice and/or use stronger bleach to water solutions, I would ask Aneros first whether their material will hold up to it.

I just went through a few weeks ago boiling my vice for 45min and my other plastic ones too. There were no ill effects to the vice.
Boiling is in effect what autocalving is at the doctors but they do it at higher temp coz it is under presure.
So you just boil for longer at room temp.
A good scrub with a nail brush soap and disinfectant water.
I read about prions too but thought it was was a way of arguing the point that there is always a chance of catching something however unlikely.
Sort of covering their ass just incase.
I read up on the best way to kill STDs and boiling for 15min was what they reckon so i did it for 45min!
My vice was second hand so it was the only way to be sure.
I also read the the bleach method was not good enough to kill STDs. Sorry @Love_is It does not mean you are wrong. We are all going on what someone has written on the net. Could be a 10 year old kid that wrote it for all we know anyway!
All my toys survived a very long boil. Suggest not putting in the water until boiling so they dont sit on the bottom of the pan too long
My post-session clean-up routine is with bar soap and a washcloth in the shower -- water temp is about 115 deg. F., tops.
Over the course of time and a switch to oil and fat based lubes I noted a slight build up of a filmy residue that spoils the look and feel of the toys.
So, for the last two years, the toys have been getting a monthly run in the upper rack of the dishwasher (cycle set to China & Glassware, not 'Pots and Pans).' That seems to remove the film from oil and fat based lubes. I use the old style powder detergent rather than the new gel-pack stuff. The Vice has been getting this treatment for almost two years and the vibe cavity remains nice and snug.
@braveneworld - I'm going to politely disagree with you. Go and read through the references in the Wikipedia article. Information just doesn't come out of nowhere.
