I have come to the conclusion that body grooming is an important aspect of Aneros activity in that the absence of distracting hair adds to the sensuality of the experience.
I began by trying to remove unwanted pubic hair by waxing, in the belief that this would result in almost permanent removal and a totally smooth skin around the root of my cock. I suppose I was vicariously seeking the look and feel of a porn actor! What I didn’t realise was that, in spite of using alcohol wipes to remove excess wax, I would still have an attack of folliculitis.
Ultimately, I came to realise that there was no real substitute for regular attention to those parts of the body that need regular grooming. As a result, I now use a Philips BodyGroom Pro to do the initial cleaning and a ladies “Cleancut” ES412 battery powered personal shaver to give the smoothest possible result in all those areas where I like to have a smooth skin.
I use this combination in all areas around my genitals, including my scrotum and the penis itself and for a 2cm radius of my breasts around my nipples. Obviously this is not a permanent solution to the existence of body hair but I find that, if anything, it adds to the general awareness of being prepared for Aneros sessions. I actually find that it is a bit of a turn-on to be cleaning my body of unwanted hair. The other day, I even found myself oozing precum as I applied the final shave to my penis!
Whilst I appreciate the fact that the Aneros device is what is producing the sensations we are seeking, there is nothing quite like the additional sensation of having a totally smooth skin in those areas we like to touch and feel while we are enjoying those sensations.
Hi Pom.
Strange, butt I've an head full of hair an I shave it off every few days.
S'pose every bloke as shaved the privates, talk about itching.
Chest hair when shaven is also very itchy.
I've even shaved my legs in some perverted moment,
thats no problem at all,
trouble is , my legs don't get aroused and never bothered since.
I just try to trim these areas nowadays, saves all the aggro of scratching.
Mick...
madmick,
I have no problems with itching but that is maybe because I do it almost daily so the hairs are very very short all the time!
That way everything stay beautifully smooth.
Hi pom again.
Yeah I know I should.
I'm a bit squeamish about shaving down the nether regions.
I mean it'd only be a nick for godsake.
Electric shavers when they cut, they take a fair chunk out of ya.
To think about it, some folk love cutting themselves.
No doubt there'll be numerous websites.
To me, it makes me think I'm about to passout.
Mick..
Agree with Pommie on the Body Groom Pro -- a real winner but at a steep price! It's advertised as OK for wet shaving but I think that unwise anywhere beyond the pubic bone.
Yeah verily madmick... On my second shave with this razor I wasn't completely dry and the teeth inflicted a nasty wound close to my outer sphincter. -- required over two weeks to heal sufficiently for an Aneros session.
Suggest being as dry as possible for shaving near the sphincter or, if you can find an old Sunbeam (similar to today's foil Braun) it's good for the most 'intimate' area. Better yet, have a m8 carry out the finishing touches!
One of the joys of 'chronological endowment' is that my pubic and perineal hair is soft and I don't get stubble itch. Only need to reduce the 'stubble' once a week.
I own the CleanCut and there are several keys to getting a close nick-free shave with it. First, apply some baby powder around the area that you're shaving, this provides a form of dry lubrication. Then start with your trimmer shaver to remove the hair down to a stubble. Apply some more baby powder and follow up with the Clean Cut. (Like anything you need to develop a little technique with the trimmer so that you're just barely gliding it across the surface of your skin). I've used this shaver every other day for the last 5 years without any problems. I've change the blades twice in that time.
Cheers,
BF Mayfield
p.s. I should add that if you use the Clean Cut every day, your use of the trimmer shaver will be minimal. The only time I have a need for it is when I've let 3 or more days go by without shaving.

I'll second that on the Seiko Cleancut. And I've tried just about every shaver/groomer out there.
The Remington BHT-600/650 is very good, but you can't get replacement foils and blades for it, which I take as a sign they are going to discontinue it. The Bodygroom is good for everything except the testicles where I think the Bodygroom causes too many nicks. For the testicles, the Cleancut is the best by far!
I use the Cleancut every day because I am concerned it will take too long to shave if I use it every other day. How long does it take you to shave using it every other day?

Car_01,
You often hear it said (in reference to shaving) that everyone's beard is different. I would dare say that the same thing holds true for pubic hair, so your results may vary, but it probably takes me a minute or two longer when I shave every other day...not really a big deal. The larger issue may be, what does it feel like? If your hair growth is rapid one may experience itching in between shaves. I've never had that problem but I can envision that others might if their hair growth is fast. Again, the Cleancut makes shaving a breeze!

Very true!

I use the Norelco Body Groom on my neck, back, upper arms, underarms, upper chest, abs, butt cheeks, pubes, balls, penis, and ass. I groom once a week and it takes about 30 minutes. Love the feeling.

The Bodygroom is a good hair removal tool. Norelco should offer a foil attachement without the long hair trimmers on the side. Those are hard on scrotums! I like to use that on my butt and anus because it doesn't cause ingrown hairs. It doesn't shave quite as close as the Cleancut, but for certain areas that is a good thing.

I have been using the Braun Silk-épil epilator for years and love the results! I am now about 95% permanently smooth. It looks better, feels better, and makes for better sex.

I agree, Car, I've tried other shavers without the trimmers and they reek havoc on the sensitive skin areas. Is the Cleancut a body shaver without the trimmers?
Brian
The Cleancut is a round top foil shaver that's intended for shaving short hairs. It is not a trimmer. You use a trimmer to cut the hair down to a stubble then follow up with the Cleancut.

Thanks B May, I hope to try it out.

Does it cause any problems with ingrown hairs? I've always wanted to try an epilator but thought it would be way too painful to use on pubes.

Early in my use of the Cleancut device, I managed to cause a few nicks, especially on my penis and scrotum. After a couple of these mistakes, I learned that to prevent this from happening, it was better to use a ‘dabbing’ technique rather than a ‘stroking’ motion. Since then I have had no problems.
If you don’t have the opportunity to groom every day or you need to deal with longer hairs, as Brian has mentioned, the best procedure is to use a grooming tool such as the Philips “Bodygroom” to remove longer hairs and to finish off with the Cleancut.
Another advantage of the Cleancut is that replacement blade-and-foil kits are readily available.
Car_01,
I would agree. I reckon the use of an epilator around the sensitive parts of my body would not be worth the risk.
I use a Braun epilator on base of penis and balls and have no problem with ingrown hairs, but I have to go very slow to avoid catching the skin, it's ok where the skin is smooth but aroun the balls where the skin is wrinkly you can nick the skin which can be painful.
I also use it on my neck and shoulders ok but had to give up on my chest around nipples as I couldn't stop the ingrown hairs.
Its amazing as teenagers we can't wait to start shaving and growing chest hair and as we get older hair growth goes wild and we want to get rid of it.
Pommie et all,
My ex was an esthetician, which meant I was her guinea pig. She liked my chest bare, and would wax me regularly. Regarding folliculitis, it takes a few (4-8) waxes before that goes away, and with each wax it becomes less and less. The hair actually grows in thinner and sparser, and there is minimal/no itch like after shaving. After about 10 waxes, I would only have to do it once every few weeks and my chest was always bare. Seems like a much easier solution than shaving daily, although there is an initial investment of time.
Thanks for this brine!! 😀 😀

Body Groom is what I use too, and have wondered what it would be like to do much more of my body with it. Just haven't got round to experimenting that far, and preparing mrs. a for a new look on me!:)! Thanks for sharing your experience and encouragement.
the more hairless skin to skin contact the more and better male/female energies exchanging/sharing contact points get ACTIVE all

I rarely have problems with ingrown hairs. Using a fine-grained pumice stone can exfoliate the area and reduce the likelihood of that. But even without that I rarely have a problem with ingrown hairs. And I love the silky smooth results!
For any of you into ultimate smoothness in the pubic region, I have just started a new Yahoo group, "Pubic Pluckers and Waxers". Yahoo! Groups. If you are interested, please check it out!
Wuerstchen,
Using your hyperlink above requires that I have a Yahoo User ID and password.
I don't have either! Does one have to join that club?
To access the group and read posts other than those on the home page you do have to join. But it costs nothing. There's nothing to it.
There was an article on "The Daily Beast" a couple of days ago about the trend toward hairlessness in males. Here's the link: http://www.thedailybeast.com/articles/2011/12/28/why-manscaping-isn-t-just-for-p

Since I have been plucking (with tweezers and an epilator) for years, it's the first time in my life I have felt I belonged to the avant-garde!

For some reason the link doesn't work from here. If you are interested, just google "manscaping daily beast" and it will take you to the article.
I don't know why but sometimes when one attempts to post a link to an external site the link text gets corrupted, it is best to check and test the link from the "Preview Post" view prior to actually making the post. This will cut down on the incidences of faulty links being posted. Here is the functioning link to your referenced article Why 'Manscaping' Isn't Just for Porn Stars Anymore.
It should be noted that some site linkages require "Cookies" to be enabled or other permissions in order to view the linked material.
I did laser hair removal and it worked great. Much less painful than waxing and it's permanent. Best result require white skin and dark hair. Took 8 sessions at $65 a session. I love it.
Davo,
What places did you have lasered?
Brian (brine)
Have you guys ever tried sugaring?
It is very easy, inexpensive, and lasts a long time.
It also leaves your skin very smooth and soft. Very easy to clean up since sugar dissolves easily in water.
Also very easy to remove hair in those places you cannot see, like between scrotum and anus and beyond. Also great for the nipple area.
