Been using the aneros for 6 months and am a married hetrosexual. I'm just getting to the point now where I'm getting pwaves consistently. My theory is this and tell me what you guys think. I think the main reason the aneros does not work initially for a lot of men is we are used to cumming from manual and physical stimulation from the penis. We are not geared to initially feel pleasure from the prostate being rubbed/touched. Though anyone who has successfully crossed over/rewired knows the intense pleasure that can come from this. Homosexual bottoms have known the pleasure of rubbing the prostate before the aneros or other prostate toys existed. To get the aneros to work, you must listen to your body. You have to give in to your "feminine" side some. Rub your nipples, stroke your balls, touch any part of you that turns you on. You have to listen to your body and you will be cumming like a women before you know it. Women's orgasms are less physical and more mental than men's penile orgasms. Accessing your "feminine" side in order to unlock prostate pleasure can be hard to do for hetro males. I think to many hetrosexuals think anal play or prostate play will turn you gay. This is a mental block for a lot of guys. Anal/prostate Play will not turn a heterosexual gay. However if you are on the fence with your sexual orientation, having powerful prostate orgasms could lead you in that direction I suppose.

According to my wife, the theory about our female side and such is a big no-no, almost an insult to her feminity : nothing similar to women's pleasure, only a men's things ...

Not to question your wife's femininity but how can she know what men feel?

Women don't have a prostate, but they do have a hard time coming if they're not relaxed. Also this slow build up of pleasure and reaching ever higher and the very slow drop off to me is very akin to what I've read women write about vaginal/ g-spot orgasms.
I think being +- is the advantage of being a man, although one can argue the clitoris is similar to the penis, you can't exactly penetrate with it...
So possibly your wife is feeling threatened by you being in touch with your female side, if you have both why would you need her? It's actually the real feminine side often depicted in pornography as a portrayal of the slutty female you want to be or want to fuck when you're horny.
Just tell your wife until you can fuck yourself up the ass you're still going to need her 😉

As we learn more about genetics and the mind, we see more and more that the duality of masculine and feminine is largely a construction. It is a very useful construction, and pervades our society.

I'll get back to this in a second.

For now, I'd say the "Cliff's Notes" of what you said - "Get in touch with your feminine side" - is excellent advice for most men who are learning Aneros. This actually takes a lot of courage, because it means embracing and embodying sexual behaviors that are stereotypically female: passiveness, relaxation, caressing the full body, swaying and thrusting your hips, feeling sexy, nipple play, moaning, etc.

It is hard for many of us brought up with male sexual stereotyping behavior to engage in this sort of thing, because it feels very silly at first, like you're "acting like a girl." But it's so great when you do.

Ideally, some day, we could break away from this male/female dichotomy stuff, at least as it pertains to sexytime behavior. There should be no stigma against g-spot and p-spot orgasm behavior and passively orgasming. Moreover, it need not be coded as "female".

The fact that it does, I bet , has a lot to do with guys' desire to cross-dress for sexual pleasure (not identity dysphoria). Talk about wires crossing! It is my pet hypothesis that men cross dress because they see it as an avenue towards that sensuality.

There is a lot of info in my teachers book about this , as he always says , surrender is the key , not to someone or something but to yourself. and to totally surrender we must acknowledge and tune into the masculine and feminine energies that we all have , yin and yang.

Another teaching is to learn to love ourselves and make love to ourselves just like you would your dream partner. Begin to awaken your body and energy through caress and tease , play with your self.
He actually has a technique in the book to awaken the feminine and it is very potent not to mention orgasmic ! 🙂
