Hi,

The site's instructions say to insert, accustom (10 mins, etc), contract, etc, but I am wondering whether I am overshooting or undershooting the prostate. I want to hit it directly (or do I? Is that dangerous and puncturing?). I want to at least know that I am hitting it, before contracting, etc.

What are some insertion techniques? Should I insert it more horizontally? Should I insert at an upward angle or downward? I seem to just get it in anyway I can (2 tries). I guess this is why this takes a lot of practice.

MyTurn,

You are over thinking this process. Just insert your Aneros in the most comfortable manner possible. Once inserted, it will naturally orient itself in a manner to massage and stimulate the AREA around the prostate. It is not really necessary to be hitting the prostate dead center. “ Despite differences in height, weight and other physical characteristics, the location of the prostate gland - 2 to 3 inches inside the anus - is the same in approximately 98% of all men. By having an insertion length of approximately four inches, the Aneros compensates for differences in physical dimensions.” (from the Aneros HOME page – FAQ’s), so don’t worry about it “fitting” your body frame.
The prostate has a veil of nerves surrounding the entire organ, so any stimulation to this veil of nerves will be effective. I’ve already addressed the puncturing possibility in your other thread. The only aspect you may wish to try and be particular about is locating the P-tab on your ”sweet spot”, once you’ve done that, lie back and enjoy yourself.

Thanks. I'm 6 ft 4, so I was just wondering if it reached, or maybe it was inser...well, you answered that anyway. I guess I will keep on trying. Can't wait til I get the house free, so I can REALLY test it.

Hello MyTurn, 🙂

There is a good thread at the following link about insertion and removal.
http://www.aneros.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=3148&highlight=insertion

The way I insert my MGX, is with the tip at the entrance to my anus, I tilt the base a few inches towards my rear for just the initial start of the insertion. Then as it starts to go in I tilt the base back towards my front into it's final resting spot. And sometimes I have to rock the base a little back and forth to make sure it correctly clears the last ring muscle of my anus before entering my rectum.

I don't know if this applies to everyone. I just know it works for me. But of course, perfect technique doesn't mean a thing unless you've learned to relax your anus muscles during insertion and removal. With practice you will learn what works best for you. I will tell you that one of the things that made insertion a hell of a lot easier for me was when I changed to using refined 100% shea butter. Although I'll be switching to the unrefined version in the future as it is healthier. This lube is way more slippery than the glycerin based lubes most people use, and lasts a lot longer. Insertion became so much easier, quicker, and comfortable compared to using a glycerin based lube. Even with my rectum pre-lubed with some of it.

Love is Peace
