Hi there guys, newbie here. After trying aneros for the 3rd time in a well spaced out time within 3 weeks on my last session I used a different lube called "Astroglide Sensitive Skin Gel". I only did the aneros session for about 15 minutes just to exercise and become more familiar. It was a very short and gentle session. However, the next day I felt my ass/inside and around the anal area were mildly sore. Another day passed and I could notice when I was walking a slight uncomfortable sensation like something was still in my butt. Another 3 days passed and I still feel it. I'm starting to get a little worried maybe I caused some type of injury. Or, that the lube I used caused some type of allergic reaction. Its not really a pain but rather a mild sensation that something is still in my ass, and mild tingling sensation. I really think its the reaction from the lubrication. I am wondering if anyone has had this type of reaction and if it faded? Do I need to go to a doctor for this? I am almost emberassed to but would rather be safe than sorry. Any thoughts guys would really help I'm starting to get bit worried over here. Thanks!

As a test try an oil based lube like castor oil or sweet almond oil.. Many people have various reactions to water based lubricants.

Hello Isvara, thank you for your reply. I am not sure if I want to put any oils in right now as I am waiting for the awkward sensations to subside. Having this reaction has made me diss-interested in any sort of anal play actually 🙁

Gotta be a reaction to the lube. Perhaps an Epsom salts bath or gentle cleansing and/or preparation H. There are several posts here that discuss lubes and many have problems with some of the commercial lubes.

I would definitely say you had a reaction to the lube. I am not sure about adding other things to the mix. I would just make sure you are washing the area regularly and keep it dry. Take a break until the irritation subsides, and get rid of that lube. Dont use it again. Look at what the ingredients in the lube are and avoid them. If you used another waterbase before, compare and find whats different and avoid that ingredient in other lubes.

I saw that lubricant and I did notice that there was an ingredient in there that was heavily irritating. I used it once a long time ago in the beginning and noticed a similar reaction. I went on a lubrication hunt after that to ensure and nothing like this ever happen again. I recommend a more natural one like good clean love.

My fall back lube is castor oil (BP - medical grade). It contains only pure castor oil, no additives. It is a bit sticky. I have no reaction to it at all. I insert about 2mls and coat the Aneros. You indicated you would not use an oil, but the water based lubes are full of all sorts of additives and I react badly to them all - really badly. Castor oil is only a laxative if you take it by the mouth. I often use Shea Butter and sweet almond oil but usually return to CO.
