Annual conference - Aneros and HIH owners/users

I like your idea and would attend if convenient. However, with HIH/Aneros users located all over the world, it may be a substantial financial burden to attend such a conference. Would members be willing to pay an attendance fee to help offset the production costs of such an undertaking? Nonetheless, instigating some form of annual users conference could generate some media attention/awareness to help spread the word. Surely HIH knows what geographical area of the country is their strongest, perhaps locating a conference there would work well.

Don't know if HIH would have any interest in this, but I think the idea has some merit. The question is, would Aneros users show any enthusiasm for the idea of coming together in-person and having open discussions like we do here in the forum and in the chat? Would they consider spending money for the experience of being involved in such a gathering? It might make a good topic for a poll at that.

i guess this highlights my question: what would happen at such an event? it would be fun to meet people, but we talk our mouths off on this forum already, so i am not so sure that hanging around and talking would be so interesting.

I have to confess to being a bit ambivalent about this possibility at a conference scale. I am not at all certain that it would enhance our community life as it is now via text chat. Indeed darwin!! 😀 I share rumel's point of view too. 😀

I think the initial excitement of meeting each other could soon fall flat, not personally one to one, but as a whole. Are there any small local groups of Anerosians who meet occasionally now? Anywhere on the planet?? If so, what sort of activities animate these gatherings?

If I proceed soon to get a "God Helmet", zaneblue and I have both offered to share these devices with others in our regions or travel distance, once we establish a protocol for using them in this context, with some advice from the original scientists. That would be a specific focus for a smaller gathering, or could be one workshop of many at such a bigger conference.

Just mulling it all at the moment...

The only way a conference would make sense to me is if it were on a larger topic, like Human Sexual Response and Practices. One of the conference speakers or a panel could address MMO. Then, a sidebar meeting would work in the context of the overall event.

Absolutely no problem at all. Formal protocol won't be needed. With the all-encompassing session manager linked to ten's upgraded Vice, the God Helmet can reprogram the upgraded Vice in real time to cover both internal and outside feedback loops.

Demo can be in the lobby of the conference venue.

Hi all,
Well that idea moved quicker than i thought. On a side note of demographics, i was thinking of running a poll on 'Where do you live in the world? (US [west, east, central], Europe [east, west], asia, UK, Australia, etc) you get the picture. Aneros/HIH might know where there demographics lay but I'm sure many would be truly interested in knowing if there are others in there city who actively engage in the Aneros. I am very interested to know if there are any Australians who view this forum (I can see Pommie does)
Oh, BTW ive been to numerous adult stores in OZ and very little shops stock the Aneros (only 2 in OZ)
OK back on track, a conference might not work, but it has raised the notion of users talking past the forum/chat.

While it might be possible to create a thread that allows users to submit their geographic locations, creating a poll with preset cities, states, provinces and countries would be pretty unwieldy. To answer your question, there are quite a few users from downunder, I know this from the user emails that I've received over the years. With respect to the Aneros' availability in your area, I know the manufacturer has a desire to have a greater presence in Australia in the near future, what form that might take, I can't say.

With respect to a conference, I suspect that there would not be a sufficient number of interested users to justify having a full scale event. Nonetheless that doesn't negate the possibility of smaller gatherings. I have long promoted the idea of users coming together at the various public expos where Aneros is an exhibitor. The expos are a terrific opportunity for users to see the entire product line, get to know the staff and hang out with fellow users in a festive atmosphere. (There is often some swag and special discounts to be had for forum members too). At this point most of these events have been in the U.S. and Europe, but hopefully they will add more locations as time goes on. A couple of my favorites are the Venus Show (Berlin in October), the AVN show (Las Vegas in January) and my top pick Erotica U.K. (London in November).

Perhaps breaking it down, as I think Simmo proposed, into a separate thread for each continent would be workable as a first cut. While 10 choices would be adequate for Canada and the U.S., Asia might have to be subdivided: SEASIA, China, Insular/Micronesia etc. Aus/NZ grouped together, etc.

Suggestion on improving distribution to Australia: As customer interest in the Aneros line has increased, I've seen more complete inventories in our local toy & leather shops. Occasionally dropping in at your retailer and asking to see what the Vice or Tempo looks like will increase shopkeeper interest in making those items a part of their display.

Moving Aneros merchandise across international boundaries in this way increases the strength of the distribution channels and places the catalog in the hands of retailers. I bought my first Aneros toy (a Helix) over the counter without ever having seen this website or knowing what potential it had. I was only looking for a p-spot tool to enhance sex. Having a counter person recommend the purchase was key to the whole game, particularly at the price point for this product.
