Well, not quite. But it feels as if I don't hold on to it, the thing will pop out. If I relax the muscle too much, I feel I will lose it. I have hesitated to use it with a partner for this reason. I don't want to go chasing the little slippery devil at a... delicate moment.

Anybody else feel this? Suggestions?

Sg,

Perhaps too much lube? Try to easing back on the lube and see what happens. The Aneros is anatomically shaped so generally the tendency is for the device to stay in rather than slide out. If you are prelubricating, discontinue it and see how you do with lubricating the Aneros alone.
