Hello all!
On Amazon, I ordered the Aneros MGX and some KY Silk. Unfortunately (or fortunately?), I received the Progasm instead. Here's my question: should I return it and request the MGX, or should I just keep it and try it out? I have never used prostate stimulators besides my finger (without lube...) and the size of this thing kinda makes me nervous (can't believe there's that much room up in there o.o). It'd be kinda a weird call/email for me, but I guess if I must I will.
Thank you!
Hello, Hugh.
Unless you are a really tall, meaty guy, over six foot, six inches and 200 lbs, I doubt you'd find an easy fit with the Progasm right off the bat. Thing is, with practice using a smaller model like the MGX, you'll be able to move up to the Progasm sooner or later, even if you're five foot, six inches. Your body will learn how to accommodate what looks like an impossible piece of equipment. How fast you adapt is a function of hours spent. I went from the Helix model to the Vice, which is as big as Progasm in 4 months with daily use.
Whatever you decide to do, good luck with the process.
Cheers,
Dave
Thanks for the reply, ten_s_nut.
I'm skeptical to exchange the Progasm, as their messup gave me a more expensive item, and It would save me the trouble in exchanging the item. If I were to use the Progasm, would it damage me?
Hugh,
As long as you prepare yourself with a hot shower and whatever else relaxes you, use plenty of lube, you won't hurt yourself. Go REAL slow inserting it, a little bit at a time. Then, take some time to get used to its presence before doing anything else.
BTW, be aware that some of us have a bad reaction to lubes containing glycerin, so read the ingredients and do a finger in butt test to make sure you're OK with the lube. Olive oil works fine, too.
Cheers,
Dave
I'm 5'6" and the only Aneros i have is the Progasm. As long as you lube the Progasm and pre-lube yourself you should be fine. Just relax and go slowly when inserting it. It also helps to "scoop" the progasm into your anus as you insert it.If you lube well and don't force it the Progasm should just slide into place. It feels very filling at first, but after relaxing for a few minutes mine seems to disappear inside of me. Again, relaxation and plenty of lube is the key to success.
hughfranklin,
Welcome to the Forums!
While I don't recommend new users start their Aneros learning journey with the Progasm model, there are many men on this Forum who have done exactly that. As long as you take sufficient time, use PLENTY of lubrication and learn to relax your anal sphincter muscles, there should be no pain or damage as 'ten_s_nut' and 'Spyderman64' have already mentioned. Initial usage may feel a bit uncomfortable due to the strangeness of the sensations but after a few uses it should become more familiar and pleasant.
Before you begin, please read the Getting Started section of the Aneros WIKI.
P.S. I sent you an introductory PM with some additional hints and tips to get you started here.

hugh - i'm pretty new myself new to anything anal beyond an annual DRE/prostate check which has never been a fun thing for me ... i got a progasm last fall as my only aneros and have been diligent in practice finally paying off ...
fortunately i (a) have a bidet in our bathroom, and (b) work in medical imaging and have had a lot of experience with OTHER person's anal sphincters so i'm pretty good at relaxing and opening a butthole
... still it took me a while to get at all comfortable with the penetration - hell even a finger was initially intrusive - and it still is like sex meaning it takes some teasing relaxing and foreplay
i get a boner in anticipation of using the progasm every time butt i still wash and clean well - i don't use an enema - then without rushing soak my ass in nice hot water massaging soapy ivory foam around the sphincter for several minutes and get the ring relaxed ...
once inside it feels like you sat on a pumpklin but believe me you can adjust to it
... my advice would be to keep the pro - yer gonna have a challenge sticking anything in yer butt unless yer a gay bottom so go with the pro and take yer time
hope you really get into it ... as it's getting into you
- rip
A. Lots of lube doesn't help unless it's the right lube or the right method of applying lube. To that I say:
-Use vaseline or olive oil, or use a syringe to shoot in some "for-sex" lube and then also lube the progasm.
B. To insert: Hold progasm to anus and apply a small bit of pressure to get it in. Forcing it in will hurt like hell! What you want to happen is your anus will relax, and a small bit of pressure will allow the anus to grab on and suck in the progasm. After that happens and you feel no pain, you're good to slide in the entire thing.
KEEP the progasm, think of it as fate. It's first of all a more expensive product with no money back gaurantee even on the Aneros website. The MGX *does* have a money-back gaurantee (order from aneros website), you can try out the MGX if you're really unhappy with the progasm any time you want. I personally really like the size of the progasm.
Hughfranklin,
I would suggest that you check out my review of the Progasm to get a better idea of what you're getting into, see here. Be certain to pay attention to my comments on insertion. The Progasm is most comfortably inserted using a slow, scooping type motion vs. as straight on method. Given that you are an anal newbie this will be of particular importance to avoid discomfort. As others have said, take this slow and use copious amounts of lubrication. You might also want to consider prelubricating (introducing a small amount of lubricant directly into the rectum, prior to insertion of the device) as well.
