I have read in some post that Aneros users cut the tail off of some of their messagers. I have the helix and the SGX models, I was thinking about cutting the tail from my SGX, it seems to be a little short and the tail gets in the way. Has anyone here modified their massagers in this way and what are the pros and cons on doing this. Any advice?

Yes, I play with my "de-tailed" SGX a couple of times each month. Makes a nice ride while participating in chat. I opted to take all the tail and have just a polished nub left.

Pro: Improves the fore-and-aft mobility and allows more penetration. 🙂 😮
Con: If you are used to reaching around behind you to extract the tool, you will be regularly, "surprised." 😀

I have cut the tails off all of the MGX, Helix, Eupho and Maximus models and have found in all cases that it makes it much easier for lying on my back, and indeed for mobility generally.

In my case, cutting off the tail involves removing the curly part of the handle only (leaving the straight section still attached). This is important since it ensures that fore/aft alignment of the tool is retained. A wire cutter is a good tool to use but you should also have a Dremel Mototool (or equivalent) with a sanding attachment to smooth off the rough edges at the cut. The whole job takes no more than a minute to carry out.

Highly recommended!
