Hi
I'm brand new here. I'm actually waiting for my Helix Syn to arrive in the mail...very eagerly waiting!
I've been doing a lot of reading on the forum and in the Wiki and the impression I get is that the principles of success with the Aneros seem to link completely with meditation.... letting go....breathing....relaxing the mind and body .... being aware....focusing.
I'd like to hear your thoughts. 🙂
Aside from the physical pleasure I'm looking forward to with my Helix I'm hoping to get more in tune with my body and learn to release all the anxiety and stress that goes with normal life. I recently had a little bit of a scare with my heart and have decided that now is the time to make the changes in my life that are long overdue. I'm going to start exercising more effectively, eating better (We already eat quite well, but I want to do better), and learning to relax. I'm planning on making my Helix a big part of that.
By the way, I'm very impressed with the support offered in the forum and look forward to getting to know all of you better!

The impression you got is spot on, If you ask me. And I think the path you chose makes a hell lot of sense and will be very rewarding.

Welcome here.

Like @Canacan said. You are already way ahead in this journey before you even start (technically I guess you have started). You will not have any frustration with your approach. I like to think of any experience I have with Aneros as simply a bonus to my life. No expectations....Just enjoy the ride!

Yes, I think that aneros is much closer to meditation than to masturbation.

My successful sessions are those with full relaxation and deep concentration. If I get too exited and get obsessed with "coming", I will fail.

Just had one of my best sessions yet, countless orgasms and I'm in a state of bliss 🙂

You're right karvec1959. Riding aneros is a kind of meditation. Thích Nh?t H?nh a Vietnamese Buddhist says that all meditation begins in our bodies. That's the approach I've taken. Have you any experience meditating? I had only TM before this but it helped. Welcome to the community, karvec.

BTW you have a good handle on all the other elements of riding too!

Thanks for the welcome.
I have tried a bit of meditation but never really stuck with it long enough to get any real benefits from it. I'm planning on changing that. I'm hoping that plus having the Aneros will feed into each other naturally....with my help of course
😉

"You have hit on a crucial distinction- being vs doing.
Meditation requires you to let go and use your breathing to aid you, if you can apply that to both start and guide your Aneros journey you will be ahead of many people who try to make things happen "

Good point Didymous. I've been developing a breathing meditation during my journey (see https://community.aneros.com/blogs/euphemisms/breathing-meditation-revised/). Karvec1959, check it out. It's easy at first and gets more interesting as I advanced. It's like the Chinese microcosmic orbit.

Many meditators use a mantra connected to their breathing to maintain a detached awareness.
It is possible to use the detached awareness of the touch of an Aneros on the prostate to achieve this "do nothing" awareness or focus.
The mantra and the 'touch' can be combined to assist in the 'do nothing'
It is of course very confusing/hard/impossible when the Aneros and the prostate create their own agenda, that is, difficult not to get involved as they party 🙂
