Hi

Wondering if anyone has a good guide for using aneros for prostatis relief.

Curious to hear all users experiences and recommendations as they do seem to vary some what.

Sometimes I have noticed increased flair ups after using (esp. bigger sizes) but have also read that this may not be bad at first as it is the body clearing toxins etc... realise that might be bs though so please let me know your techniques and outcomes.

Also regarding size, as I guess bigger may be better for draining.. I can take the maximus but the vice is painful. How would the prograsm (jr and reg size) fit in comparison?

Thanks

There are different types of prostatitis. The acute kind which is an acute bacterial infection is quite painful and makes you quickly and very ill and you need antibiotics, e.g., Cipro 500 mg twice a day for a week or more to treat it. I would strongly recommend to someone having this that you not do prostate massage. But honestly, you'll feel so sick there's little danger you'd even think about wanting to do that. Chronic prostatitis can take a variety of forms, but for the kind that doesn't involve an infection but just maybe a congested feeling gland, prostate massage can be helpful. I don't think there's necessarily a correlation between size and how well you're massaged, but seemingly the larger the Aneros, the better job of massage you'll do. If you're just starting out with all this, the Helix is a great one to start with, large enough you'll "feel" it in general, but not so large that it will feel uncomfortable to use starting out. And as you've probably read already, it's a hands off thing, just let your anal muscles move the massager in and out and don't touch yourself like with typical sexual stimulation, i.e., touching your penis.

I have chronic. I have been experimenting with aneros for over 2 years and have quite a few models now. I would like to get a comparison on the prograsms compared to the bigger models: vice and maximus that I own. For pleasure the peridise work best for me. I am still at early stages unfortunately but I noticed when some of the regular low level symptoms occurred that Maximus seemed to help. In fact I could barely notice them when inserted... like it was scratching an itch. Covering up one sensation with another which led me to wonder about the prograsms.

With regular Aneros use (I guess that's once or twice a week for me) I basically have no prostate congestion symptoms at all, at least that's what they felt like they were before I started with Aneros massagers several years ago. Does seem that the larger models do massage the gland better. I have a Progasm but use it only occasionally, sometimes just when I want to feel the greater degree of pressure against the gland. It's actually the smaller models that produce prostate orgasms better for me, like the Eupho, though you almost never feel any pressure against the gland with it, only a tickling sensation. The Progasm's size however just makes it uncomfortable to me to use for very long.

@slimjm : I agree with you on the size of the devices and their effects. I ride very quietly and almost motionlessly, except for subtle moving in and out. I do think that really vigorous sort of riding, and those guys who "buck" when they ride may get some irritation from a prolonged ride. I have had some urinary frequency and urgency (feeling that you have to urinary more frequently than usual and urgentlt) occasionally after a long or particularly "crazy" ride. That may be in part a mechanical irritation of the lower bladder and/or a part of the prostate gland. But it usually passes within hours.
