Aneros Experience Update - Am I On The Right Path?

Just wanted to share some of my recent experiences to see if i'm headed in the right direction.

When I settle down for a session its usually with my Progasm. I enjoy the full sensation that it gives. The feelings of my anal canal reacting to its girth while my sphincter relaxes feels great. Its like my butt is clamping down on it and it leads to some great feeling contractions. Typically in a session my go-to position has always been on my knees in a doggy-style position. I'm not sure why it feels the best to me, it just does. Something about being able to manoeuvre my hips and push my butt back while I gently thrust my hips back and forth adds to the sensations and pushes me into some great feeling mini-o's and anal-o's. I assume they're Anal-O's because its a climactic sensation that pretty much is exclusive to my anus. It clamps down and spasms and throbs but there's no other area involved.

However, as great as all those are I find that when i'm practicing doggy-style positions that there's almost too much movement and active involvement from me to lead to proper prostate excitement. Many people advocate for the "do-nothing" approach, and I would tend to agree with that. If I decide I want to attempt to stimulate the prostate as well as everything else, I try lying on my back with my feet flat on the bed, knees bent upward. I get some nice sensations, sometimes some that cause my body to twitch involuntarily, but nothing particularly exciting. I also try lying on my side (right side) with my knees bent. Same thing, nice sensations but nothing particularly great.

There have been moments where I feel like i'm building up to something big. It starts in my anus, it starts to feel warm and the sensation grows and spreads outward to the rest of my butt. But i've never been able to maintain the build up to a climax.

Anybody care to chime in with some advice or comments?
Is my go-to doggy-style position inhibiting my progress? Should I focus on honing my experiences with lying on my back and concentrating on the sensations I get from that position? (I've heard most people have the best success in this position).
Or should I go with what feels good?

In my case, I'm able to relax the most, and get great results, by laying on my back...so I stick with that position! Of course, following the pleasure is also important to me...so, experimenting is also an essential part of my journey...IMHO! However, even my do-nothing approach eventually leads to some very strong involuntary muscle activity, which, when the time is right, I nurture and attempt to "swing higher" (Wiki Reference) with gentle nudges!

It sounds like you're doing lots of things right! Do you feel very relaxed on your hands and knees? I wouldn't be able to relax at all in that position!

I suppose so. Its tough to define "relaxed" from person to person. I've heard many folks who say they THOUGHT they were relaxed, but found out later that they really weren't. On my knees i'm able to relax my anus and area well enough to generate some pretty good contractions and, at times, P-Waves. My body is probably more relaxed when i'm laying flat or on my side, but I find the knees position to be the most arousing. Plus it was the position I used when I encountered my first mini-O. Although technically speaking its not truly on my "hands and knees". Its more like on my knees with my head on a pillow, my butt in the air and my body weight resting on the back of my calves.

It was that point where my sessions really took a giant leap forward and I began to experience lots of great sensations during each session.

relaxation is very key. I agree that doggie style may be hard to relax fully. Maybe try some other positions for a while and see what develops. On my back is the best for O's but also laying slightly on my side with one leg bent and the other straights works very well too. Do you feel the involuntaries?

I'd stick with laying on your back with knees up, and learning to really concentrate on relaxing your anal sphincter muscles.

In my own experience, when this starts to happen, I have a tendency to start to clench my anal and prostate muscles probably in a subconscious attempt to force orgasms to happen. Continue to focus on relaxing your anal sphincter muscles and see what happens.

Also, you can put a pillow under your knees, allows you to fully rest and relax your legs.

I think I'm guilty of this as well. When build-ups start to happen I tense up because they feel great. Its what you're used to doing during a traditional penile orgasm. I guess I have to focus on countering that natural reaction.

Also, you can put a pillow under your knees, allows you to fully rest and relax your legs.

In my experience, it is not so much countering than reversing. You can't block your reactions to pleasure... what a waste it would be, and it would make you mentally very tensed... Not what you want. The thing for me is to learn to react in a different way : by opening more, by welcoming instead of clenching (blocking, holding, whatever). And for this, the best is to start ingraining that reaction earlier on in the sessions, when the intensity is not so strong that you loose control. Teach yourself to react to small pleasure by immediately and instinctively opening/relaxing/welcoming more, you might then be able to do it when it gets stronger too.
